i was taking off rust in my trunk and i went a step further and took all the paint off and found alot of unwanted rust stops under the factory paint after alot of scrubing with a wire brush and some rust remover products it ended up reall good not much damage.
i resprayed it with flat black to prevent more rust, here is a picture of what it looked like after i took off all the paint.

^^ thats what i used works reallly goood.

so if you have some rust in your trunk ... you might want to to the "extra mile " and get some peace of mind.

A lot of 240sx hatches have that problem.

I did.

Did the same shit as you pretty much.

I'm not that worry about it.

Yea, that's just surface rust. All you west coaster's don't even need to worry.

that rust looks like what you would find on brand new sheet metal, after about two days of sitting in my garage. That trunk metal is mint...

cleaning it of with air craft sripper and then putting paint over it is not gonna prevent the rust from coming back.
YOu need to restore the oem zince coating embedded in the metal to correctly prevent it from coming back but meh im in sunny cali so its not an issue for me.
