ok i have all my parts and ready for the install...
but i had a quick question...
if my manifold and turbo is bolted on.. and all the oil lines are connected.. intercooler and BOV is bolted on...the only thing thats not connected is the wastegate..
correct me if im wrong.. but the turbo wont see boost without the wastegate?.. but will i still be able to run my car???
i know it seems odd... but i want to get everything in... and im still waiting for the wastegate to come in the mail via the UPS fairy...
so if i plug up the wastegate pipe (on the manifold) temporarily, would this be possible doing since the turbo is not reading boost?
my friend said he did it and its ok... but im not really sure....
lets keep the flames to a match size if possible... if not i understand.. LOL..
thanks for any help..

If you plug up the hole on the manifold for the wastegate it'll be boosting as much as the turbo can possibly put out. Wastegate is made to keep the boost from getting past whatever limit you decided to put it at. It does that by letting go all exhaust that would make the turbine push more air into your engine that you desire. As always, I'm not 100% sure but I would play it safe and put on the wastegate first. Otherwise, you will probably end up with a blown motor.

Don't run the car with the wastgate hole plugged. As said above the turbo will boost till its past its efficiency and on the way to blowing your engine. Just wait untill you have the wastegate put on and all the hoses hooked up. I hope you have a boost gauge.

If you really want to run your car with out the wastegate, just leave the wastegate open, your car will run but there won't be any boost. If you want the most exhilirating drive of your life and a blown motor, plug the wastegate and go drifting, well for about 15 seconds anyways.....

if you have the ability to plug the wastegate, you can probably just run a dump pipe to wherever you were going to plumb the wastegate to. that would be your best bet.
By that I mean, instead of the wastegate, run a pipe or elbow from the wastegate flange to somewhere you can safely vent exhaust. If you don't plumb it into the downpipe (i hope you were planning on doing so) then your car will be pretty obnoxious as you're running exhaust pretty much straight to the atmosphere(would be more so, but you have a huge sound absorber called a turbine in the way, thankfully).

well yah thats what i meant... if i run without the wastegate but the hole is open.. the turbo wont see boost???
im just gonna wait for everything to come in.. but i might as well know about it...

yeah, if you have the hole open, it would act as an open wg. Your turbo will still be spooling, but not fast enough to make any boost.

would this be another way to break in the turbo.. (it is a brand new K's T3) or do i have to break in with it reading boost....
i ask this question because i know i wont break it in when im boosting because ill just romp the gas....
