some of you might remember my post a few weeks ago. i replaced my water pump because i thought the sealant was out because it was leaking from the water pump. therefore went to courtesyparts.com and purchased a water pump.

after yesterday, the car started. 1 minute later, the fan turned on. that's how i knew that the car's temperature will go higher than usual. so i drove it around, then it got really high. i didnt turn it off, thus i just pulled over, let it run. the fan still aint turn off.

then i turn the car off, let it sit for like 15 minutes, re-filled the coolant resevoir tank, turned it on. then the car was running fine. fan didnt turn on indicating it was about to over heat. so i'm saying to myself "maybe the car just needed more coolant cuz there wasnt enough" So i let it sit over night thinking everything was fine.

This morning, i turn the car on, and check the coolant level. Well guess what? Coolant is low. at the minimum level. re-filled with some coolant again, then the fan turns on. (indicating temp. will get hot). so i was like f**k it, im gona drive it to work like this. when i got to work, car was fine. no over heating. up to now, i still think (and hope) i just need to add a little more coolant.

on my lunch break, i will buy some more coolant to put in there. i dont understand what's going wrong though. new water pump, new thermostat, new belts, and new coolant.

does it sound like im lacking coolant? i hope so. what do you guys think. thanks in advance

Is there a puddle under the car or signs of coolant anywhere in the engine bay? I hope it isn't the head gasket like what was mentioned above.

I dont see a puddle of coolant anywhere. It seems nothing is leaking. I dont think its a blown head gasket. Doesnt seem the car is performing worse. Theres no physical or visual signs of leakage. I dont know. Maybe its time for that sr swap after all :D i wish. any more suggestions

this might help clear up things:

i opened the cap. the coolant in the radiator isnt filled all the way up. i'd say half an inch of where it normaly would be filled to. should i put more coolant and try again?

yes fill the main tank first try adding some water wetter and burping the system just in case.

I haven't fixed it (yet), but I've been told that you can bleedthe air out of the coolant system (prolly whats causing your problems) by removing the radiator cap, let it idle & warm up, and then just keep pouring in coolant until all the air bubbles out.

I think thats how it went anyway. There's other ways to do it as well... hope this helps

After I changed my water pump a month or so ago, I had to top off the radiator twice and the resevior 3 times before the coolant would 'magically' stop disappearing.

I don't think I had to refill my radiator anymore after replacing the water pump. Don't want to sound like an a$$ but just so you know it doesn't always happen this way.

Does the KA24DE have a fan clutch? My fan is always on.

Sorry i can't seem to understand your post. You're icon is too distracting. I'll be reading your post and my eyes just keep drifting to the left...
Good luck!
