Plan on getting from advance..Felpro Valve Cover Gasket
Part No. VS50550R ..Is that right for s14 Ka..don't wanna end up with something for an altima lol
I read one post on here where one person gave them the title of fail pro lol..anything wrong with their gaskets? I like the fact I get the plug tubes and valve cover gaskets in one deal.
Asking all this because I'm thinking of changing my valvecover gasket if weather permits

Use it. Its a piece of rubber. Put black silicone on the half moons to seal it up. Mine hasn't leaked and I'm all about getting OE parts.

Yeah that was my exact thought, but figure I'd check.

O yea is it better to put the cover and plug gaskets on the head first, and then sit the valve cover on it...or put em on the cover first and sit it all down on the head in one motion. I just don't see how the plug gasket would stay attached to the valve cover when trying to seat it. I don't want it to not line up right.
Thanks

It only goes one way, sitting it in the cover first is easier.

Even the plug gasket? I heard the cover has grooves in it for its gasket..so I can see how thta one stays in place....plus you can hold on to it.
I'm just not seeing in my head how the plug gasket is gonna stay on the over when I sit it all down on the head..biggest worry is it not aligning perfect with the plug tubes leaving gaps for oil to get pass.
Thanks

You're overthinking it. It fits tight on the cover, otherwise it would leak anyway. Soon as you get into the job it will be clear. I understand thinking ahead but you're over analyzing a gasket. Don't, it's just a piece of rubber.

Gonan remove the top guid..the one you see directly with the valve cover off. Do I put the 2 bolts back in when I remove it, or just throw em away with the guide and leave the holes open?

I'm going to stab you.
Throw the bolts away. Think about it.

Yeah but I saw on you tube a video where guy posted his chain rattle on his car, and another guy told him to put the bolts back in. And he said that in all caps. So I wanted to make sure. I mean if somebody types in all caps for one certain thing, it's usually not to be taken lightly.
Oh yeah lightsource...you can unsubscribe now..I'm done with this thread
