For a school project, I am fielding a hypothetical racecar. It a tube framed, s13 built for unlimited road racing (One Lap of America) and I was curious should I put a Vg30DETT or RB26DETT in it?
Thanks,
Travis

RB, has alot more potential the the VG.

How many skylines have over 1k hp? lots

How many 300z TTs?? None(if any, few and very very far between)

I'd get a VG30DETT for that type of racing. Isn't one lap of America were they drive to tracks and race there? If so, I'd rather have a VG30 for quicker replacement of parts that might break.

Ultimate Horsepower don't matter cause having 1000+ HP (which a VG can do) on a road course sure isn't going to help you, but the high torque that ussually comes with a highly/lightly modified VG will.

A V-designed engine will sit back further in the engine bay then a inline engine, that would help with wieght distrabution, hopefully leading to better handling.

The only draw back I can think of is the VG probably wieghs alittle more then a RB.

Well, I didnt see that it was for road racing :) I was thinking straightline, but even then on the road coarse the RB would be better, the inline design produces more torque then the v style engine. And the VG would be hard as **** and would be packed in the little 240 engine bay, ever seen it in a 300

I'm fairly sure VG's make more torqu to HP compared to RB's but I could be wrong.
