View Full Version : ECU's
Does anyone know where the ECU for a 1990 s13 would be? I'm trying to find it so i can remove the speed limiter on it.

by in the back i mean the front, where your feet would be. Sorry if that was misleading. It's pretty easy to find.

Don't get what your refering to  I guess my directions where alittle confusing, wish I could draw a map or something.
Transient, the thing under the console is the seat-belt control. Hope that helps.

The ECU is on the passanger side kick panel.

Where do you get these picture-forming ideas?!?!?! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> Nothing bad about it. I'd like ot know why you cut that wire and what does it do and how did you run?

how do you know which wire to cut?
S13Grl

Haha! It's yellow with a green stripe. What I'd like to know is what does it do and how does it better performance?
s13grl, the wire that i cut is the speed limiter wire. your speedo still works, because the information is first sent to the speedo THEN its sent to the ECU via the yellow wire with a green stripe. since my S13 has a fuel cut-off at 112 mph. i cut it so i can go faster. the car feels better without it too. it seems to use a lower rpm at higher speeds. maybe a coincidence? i think not. anyways, i hope that helps.

Thanks a lot! You miss your speedo yet? Oh, and does this also remove your limiter? (I don't think it does, just wanna make sure.)
My speedo still works, so i really cant miss it. I havent found a way to remove the rev. limiter yet. I gotta work on that, its way cheaper than a new ECU, but thats definately down the line for me.

Thats no theory, it's correct. IceTekGuy is looking at his seat belt controller. The ECU IS IN THE KICK PANEL. It will have about 40-50 brightly colored wires running to it, have a blue "cap" in the middle and the ecu it's self is a metal box about the size of a small book.
