You would need to go top mount to run a 450. you need to change the internals for sure though or else it will fail you for sure. Stock rods are only good to about 400 or so. piston rings are good till about 16 psi.

GT2871, ha ha. Seems like that is the only turbo that anybody wants to run on an SR for some reason. You will need a 3076 to make that kind of power

go to enjuku racing, and start spending lol.
forged internals, bigger turbo, upgraded fuel lines, and a head swap, and you shouldnt be too terribly far off... watch out with those A/F ratios though, they can be a killer. get a tune also

buddy of mine is running a t3/t4 with z32 maf 450cc injectors tune.. everything else is stock pushing around 350whp on 14psi.. not bad for that power. but u would have to do much more to reach 450... gotta make it rain at a local shop to see that kind of power..:werd:

You would need to run maybe a GT3582 .82 AR. with cam like a 272. 450 out of a sr20 is alot. It would need to be tuned and checked frequently. but if your car is stock then just shoot for 300-350 range. What you are talking about is alot of money. rebuild and addition of all these parts to make even 350 reliable for track and DD is close to about 8k. 350 to the wheels is ALOT OF POWER! very dangerous for unfamiliar drivers.
Also, If you have an S14 motor just delete the VTC intake cam gear because when you make that much power it interfers with the cam degrees and makes it hard to be exact.

If you are trying to run that find of power on a stock block, you should seriously think about investing your money into a good engine management. Def standalone b/c there is no room for error. Leave the 28s alone and go bigger.

400 Brake HP or 400 WHP?
3076R will get you both 500 BRAKE HP and 500 WHP

Forged internals needed for higher powers like these. I'd go top mount TD06-25 turbo and call it safe with 740cc injectors and some 264 cams. Def. fuel pump and z32 or cobra maf. Apexi power fc for tuning or something else that floats ur boat. You really never want to go the cheap route with an sr to achieve this power goal.

Also if you just want to build it do what i'm gonna do. 2.2 stroker kit 270 cams and everything else i said and you will have no problem pushing that power.

you're a moron.
Ive seen 5 or 6 SR20's myself included(my old car) making 450+ on stock internals. And thats just locally. Ive seen people make almost 600hp with stock rods. And myself, my brother and my neighbor have all thrown 18-21psi at stock rings with no problems for quite a while. I did it for two years without a problem.

You are a bigger moron than the previous guy. Everyone should know by now that doing work to a 240 isnt cheap...if you dont like it, find a new hobby

You need to be quiet, you can easily make 450rwhp on stock internals; with stock rings. Plus you don't have to go top mount with 272's, that's another BS statement. I've got a 20G on my SR and its capable of over 450 to the rear wheels at 25psi.
All of this is irrelevant, this guy is obviously a moron and has constructed a two sentence thread to get all of his answers. You sir (creator of this thread) need to start over; English class, then "search" button. You can't find it if you can't spell it :l101:
