Anyone have experience with these? I have noticed a lil chip in my windsheild and figured i could probably take care of it now before summer/sun blazing comes out with a treatment.

Yeah they work pretty good. The chip will still be visible, but it wont spread. I used a $7 kit made by permatex over a year ago on my windshield and it hasnt spread at all. Definately much cheaper than having my local windshield installer fix it($60).

stuff works great. my dad uses it for his work van all the time.

autozone has a good selection.

easy to use too.

Works great, my dad's old van had a repaired chip with the kit from autozone and it lasted at least 5 years, probably more, without spidering, even in our hot hot summers and freezing winters.

Is that what they do??? Re-melt it? I always wondered. My GF had a good size crack in her windshield that her grandpa (who works at a glass repair shop) made dissapear. It was wild.

OP: Those kits work great, but the chip will still be there, just wont spread.

I wonder if someone has a write up on how to fix it this way

Windshield Repair - Windshield Repair (http://www.windshieldrepair.com/)

Less than 3 seconds on Google.
The actual repair shop isn't far from me either.

i had a dot about 5mm on the windshield, it appeared "black" before repair. the repair kit filled up the hole and the dot is no longer visible. however, if you looks hard, you can still see the outline of damage that is similar to water mark on the glass.

Bumping this...

Anyways, I got a chip with on my wife's car. Trying to find a repair kit that might make it less visible. JCI inspection is due, trying to alleviate from having to replace the damn windshield on it if I dont have to. Finding a fucking windshield for a Legnum will be a bitch if it happens.

Who has used a kit that made the chip harder to notice and what kit is it? Thanks

Cant go to Wal-mart since Im in Japan... I need something thatll make it near invisible or atleast harder to notice. JCI inspection, if they notice it, car fails. I'll have to replace the whole windshield and that wont be pretty. They dont have windshield replacement places out here in Okinawa like there are in the states. I'd have to hunt down a windshield myself from one of the junkyards and then finding somebody to install it. I'm looking at a $400 repair here...thats if I even find a damn windshield for it since there aint that many Mitsu Legnums out here.
