The banjo bolts that I got from Earl's are bottoming out in the master cylinder before they are tight enough to seal. I found a thread on Honda Tech about it and they are saying just to double up on the crush washers (2 on each side). This seems really sketchy to me. Also, after a test fit, I had to use 3 crush washers on each side to get the bolt to seal.

Is this safe???

Here is a pic from Honda Tech. This just has the normal 1 crush washer on each side. I'm not sure if their master cylinder holes are just that much deeper or if he had the banjo bolts custom made (someone in the thread said they thought he had them made)

you can get shorter banjo bolts from several places:

Baker Precision
Summit Racing
McMaster Carr

You could also cut down the banjo bolt end a bit without affecting banjo performance. I have doubled up on crush washers without too much grief, but I usually RTV them together just to be safe. I also have used super glue, that... not so safe. But it worked in a pinch.

Best bet is buy a shorter banjo bolt, or use a different type fitting.

Summit definitely does not have anything shorter in this thread pitch. I will search those other 2 sites.

I am getting alot of people on my local forum saying to cut it. Isn't the end of the bolt made with a certain flare that will obviously be gone if I cut it off?

if you cut the bolt down then you are doing to have to make a champher to that bolt. most likley its a 45 degrees champher.

Well I had some extra banjo bolts laying around I decided to go ahead and cut these.

Two down, one to go:

I won't have the 3rd brake line in for a few more days. Then I will bleed the system and hopefully no leaks...
