So I'm thinking about just ordering up about 20 tires for this summer. I plan on running on Maxxis victra's and drifts this year since I can get them at a fair price. Is it a bad idea for tires to be sitting around for about 5 months? I always slack off and wait till the last minute, then stress myself out wondering if my tires will get here on time. It would be much better to just order ALL of them at once and be able to budget $ for events and such the rest of the year.
Here in MN our drifting season is only from about end of May to October. So the last set I would be using would be sitting around for around 5 months. Is that a bad thing?

you should be just fine.
keeping them inside will keep them in better shape, but if you plan to keep them in the garage you can put them in trash bags or wrap them in plastic to keep them from drying out.
either way they should be just fine for that amount of time.

Keep them dry and out of the sun and they should be fine, like LongGrain said, garbage bags should be cool.

I have a spare bedroom downstairs I can keep them in. Cool I figured it would be easier this way as long as they wouldn't dry out. I want to do the same with all my fluids as well. That way whatever $ I have left over can go to upgrades for the car.

I know one thing for sure, definitely keep the gas from welding away from tires, it completely ruins them, they basically break down and turn to chalk. I had a set stored above the welding table for a while, and when I pulled them down to mount them they basically fell apart. And they were only about three months old.
