i apologize, i'm sure this is a dumb question. but i havent been able to find anything searching just due to the nature of the search words.

anyways. I just need to know what I need to put an s14 turbo on an s13 SR.

ive been told both that i can use stock lines and that i need conversion lines. so i'm not sure.

also do i need the compressor outlet clocking adapters? do i use the T25 or T28 inlet/outlet? I have the inlet and outlet for BOTH turbos

i guess thats it. i'll delete the thread as soon as i have the answers i need. I already have the turbo... it came with comp inlet/outlet and an aftermarket elbow.

thanks.

t28?!?!!?!?!

dude, thats a baby-sized turbo..................

haha jk

i used my original lines and just carefully bent them. i dont mind the SS lines but i prefer the solid lines, much more reliable IMO.

the output needs to be changed, i cant remember but i dont think the input needed to be changed.. i left that alone.

so you used all s13/T25 lines? if that works then that is great, i still have all of mine.

did you use the T25 or T28 comp outlet when you clocked yours?

thanks for the response btw, its appreciated.

would anyone else like to chime in?

Take everything you can from the t-28 setup & implement it properly unto the t-25 location. the 25 lines are more than likely different in size and delivery when comparing to a 28, considering its only 3 points on size difference, you want to assure adequate delivery of lubrication and consistency. go for some more personal research. best regards.

i would just get aftermarket ss s13 lines much easier to work with imo and use t25 inlet and outlets with clocking adapter spacers and thats it.

Hmm, imo. Seems like inadequate lubrication flow for a t/28 from a 25. .. .i wouldn't go that route, seems a bit uneven. Even if the difference isn't "big" there is still difference. .. .i am going to look further into this, this seems lazy in the upgrade sector of tuning. .. .imo.

i agree... i went thru it and it was a bitch.. just use aftermarket lines as for the inlet i used the stock ones and they work just fine.

for the inlet and outlet pipes. just use the ones off of the t28... Correct me if I'm wrong, the clocking adapters are designed if youre going to use the t25 inlet and outlets on the t28 so they point the same way instead of some awkward direction, na mean?

You need the adapters to use t25 inlet/outlets on a T28. The T28 inlet/outlet needs no adapters.

I have found the Stock lines a pita to work with and just get SS lines. You using a S13 or S14 water neck?

I JUST finished installing an S15 T28 on my S13 engine this morning.

I am seriously glad I spent the extra money to get stainless lines from Taka. Circuit Sports makes some too FWIW. The removal was a real PITA with the stock hard lines, especially the water return that runs behind the block to the heater hose.

Re-install was cake with the stainless lines. They have enough play to get their fittings attached while working behind the manifold, and then maneuvering the manifold into place.

I also went with the clocking adapters for the inlet/outlet on the compressor housing. This way I could use the intake and intercooler piping I've already got, which simplified things immensely.

One other thing to consider - I also went with an S14 water neck (they're pretty cheap from a few different vendors), which has a threaded fitting for the water return. That way you can run your water return a few inches to the neck, instead of all the way behind the block again.

thanks thats awesome to know.

as far as the lines, if i go with taka lines, do i get the s13 or s14 kit? do i get T25 or GT kit?

as far as the water neck, i was just planning on using a stock one, but if its necessary i'll get an s14 one...

i dont really WANT to get the s14 neck, i would just rather keep the s13 one. everything is being installed out of the car, so getting behind the block shouldnt be a problem.

Fair enough. I did it with the engine in the car, and in fact had to remove the water neck to get the manifold/turbo out. Since it was off, I decided to go to the S14 neck.

just to update

stock lines did not work, i needed to get S13 stainless conversion lines.

i also needed the compressor inlet/outlet clocking adapters. both T25 and T28 inlet/outlets were both at the wrong angle.
