bad waterpump and heater core?

what are the symptoms of a bad water pump and heater core??:-/

Over heat, leaking peep hole. Leaking gasket. Screeching noise. Usually if heater core is bad it gets clogged or builds corosion and leaks as well.

Heater core: bad smells when you turn on the heat
takes too long for heat to start working

water pump - leaks or noise (visual)
sometimes you can't really tell until you take it appart

I'd go ahead and replace it if you suspect is bad
they're aren't too expensive and it doesn't take long
