what kind of gaskets are you guys using on your cars? because i am trying to use ones from NAPA and the car is fine, until the gasket eventually burns off the paper, leaving just eh metal and then the exhaust leaks after that.

is there a superior gasket to this that will prevent leaks better than this? or am i just remedial?

any help is appreciated.

background

i installed my hks hi power cat back, made sure all the faces were flat with each other, and the system was tight. two days later the car just started getting louder and louder, and i check it out and the paper off the gasket is half burned. (not sure if this normal)

so i took it all apart, installed 2 gaskets back to back on my cat back system to see if this would help. so far no leaks, but thats how it was last time too.

again any help tips or advice appreciated.

are you looking for the gasket between the head and the manifold or what, be more specific, what kind of motor, year and such...

I had problems with the cheap gaskets at auto stores, ended up buying one from nissan.. seems to be sealing well.

i get all my gaskets via the internet. Last order I got was through Enjuku. copper mani gasket, and OEM gaskets from the manifold all the way back

nothing works better than OEM. At least gasket wise, IMHO
