Anybody have instructions on how to rebuild Q45 calipers?
I'm planning on getting another set of Q45 front calipers from the junkyard tomorrow and get the rebuild kit from autozone. But I have no clue on how to rebuild, nor do i have all the proper tools.
Anybody willing to help me out?? :aw:

It's pretty easy to figure out once you have all the parts in front of you. You'll see. lol

iono if thats actually the safest way to do. i mean you dont have any idea how to do so, you gotta remember that brakes are suppose to be stopping your vehicle, but if you mess then it aing gonna happen. best bet is to watch vids or read-on some more forums, im sure you'll find some in the "how-to's" section

Just buy some remanufactured ones from autozone. Here its 53 dollars with a core. So 106 dollars for both if you have the cores.

why is it that you can not search? Rebuilding Q45 calipers is such olddddddddd news, seeing threads like this makes me sad

It is basically a metal cup(two in this case) in the caliper. You get the cup out by removing the outer seal. once out you will see an inner seal that sits in a groove, remove then replace with new. replace cup and outer seal(new). Cut down the retaining ring for the outer seal as little as possible, so it just barely doesn't touch itself. Oh yeah, clean of any rust on the cups as it will wear out he inner seal faster. I rebuilt my 300zx brakes in like 15 mins, longest part was getting the cups out-took like 40 mins. Hope this helps.

Rebuilding Q calipers is the same procedure as any other sliding caliper, there's plenty of tutorials online.
