Hahaha, I know what that's like. I rationalize my smoking by the fact that I walk to/from class.
About the food though, rice is stupid cheap if you buy it in the big 5lb bags. Cook some of that shit up, toss in some veggies and voila, deliciousness.

5lb bags? Man the hell up and get a 50lb bag.
Flavor the shit outta everything.
Can you have essence of meat? If so, oyster sauce some beef with pepper, grill em up, and give the meat to your buddies. Then throw rice in that bitch and stir fry the rice. So yum.

well vegetarian or vegan? big difference there. but personally, the only non meat meal i ever ate is, rice, teriyaki sauce, peas, carrots, and lots of iceberg lettuce and corn. note that these ingredients are the small tiny kind. crunchy, saucy, deliciousness. the teriyaki sauce is what did it for me...holy crap. stir fry and win. i did this meal out of desperation one weekend being left home alone and working with what i had in the freezer at the time.

dude I make my own veggie burgers, beats the shit out of anything you can buy in the store
do like: 2 cans of beans smashed, 1/2 cup peppers, 1/2 cup carrots, 1/2 cup onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 tbsp flour, 3 tbsp bread crumbs, S&P and seasoning, stir it all up cook medium heat in oil.
ive been throwing avocado on top of it w/ hot sauce.
The other night my family had taco night using tofu "meat", they couldnt tell the difference.
Get yourself a vegetarian cookbook, helps alot, I once made stuffed tomatoes w/ spinach from one of the recipes I read

dead fucking serious.
Well, you got the dead part right. It's sounds like putting in a roll cage but then not wearing your seat belt cause it's uncomfortable.
Seriously go into a health food store and say you want to start eating healthy so you can keep smoking and see if you don't get the same response as here.

you know what would make you feel a LOT better? quitting smoking. not quitting meat.
i'm trying to think of a good 240sx based analogy but i've got nothing.
edit: i can't believe i got cockblocked by s14db just like that

have you tried a diet of fish & white meat?
as I get older, I tend to feel better forgoing red meat,
or at least have it sparingly.
Might help to list what veggies and/or style of food you prefer.
I'll try to see if I can dig up some vegetarian recipes.
my brother has a shitload of cookbooks that might be useful.
I need to start cooking again too. Its time consuming but a lot of fun.
If you like Indian food, I believe there should be several recipes that are easy to make.
I'll see what I can find.

Brown rice instead of white rice. Much more protein, fiber, and nutrition in general.
Also, what everyone else said.

This was a pretty good recipe site I used to use.
Never made anything from the veggie section, but some of the other stuff was solid.
let us know if anything works out.
Arielle's Recipe Archives: Vegetarian (http://recipes2.alastra.com/vegetarian/default.html)
actually, I once made some aloo gobi from that site. wasn't bad at all.
Their Indian section also has lots of veggie recipes,
as Indian cooking has larger emphasis on vegetarian cooking

'Ghee' is hard to find. I just substitute with olive oil.

You should eat some meat, it is good for you. Just buy it from the organic section, nowadays most regular off-the-shelf food is hormone-injected and/or low-fat garbage.

it's pretty much sold everywhere ive been to.

^^ I get mine from the deli section at walmart, the tribe brand w/ roasted red peppers is inexpensive and delicious. My wife has made it before with roasted red peppers, came out decent. I could never stop eating meat all togather, too many italian dishes wouldnt be the same without it.

the question whether meat is good for you or not is very debatable.
some of the smartest people in history, like einstein, were vegetarians.i dont think they would do anything that is stupid
you can eat other foods like almonds and spinach that can give you all the good stuff of meat without needing meat and you dont get wierd hormones or diseases or GLASS SHARDS t hat are in meat.
the FDA, which controls food, is often run by people that used to be CEOS for meat corporations and other food corporations, their interests lie in making profit for t heir share holders which is their one legal binding obligation. if meat is deadly or hazardous for whatever reason the company does not have to recall it and does not get penalized for not doing so, per FDA laws
for food i lately have been making a lot of sandwhiches. i like to do it on a bagel, costco is cheap and their plain bagels dont have milk which is cool because im an aspiring vegan lol
then i hit it with some lettuce, spinach, red/yellow/orgreen or orange pepper, that kinda shit. carrots and peppercinis too but i get the kind in the bottles since they are good for way longer. then i hit it with some mustard, oil, and vinegar
i also not so much lately but used to eat a lot of pasta. if you want you can use rice milk instead of regular milk for the sauces if they need that
salads
also vegetarian/vegan resturants have some good food and its often cheap
you can make pizza too
chips and salsa lol
ive lost like 10 pounds or so ive been a striving vegan for like 6 months and dont drink soda since like 2 months ago or something. and im not fat, now im like 5 11 or 6-0 and i weigh 165
its cool not to eat animals too
