That's a really really tough decision.

I can't make up my mind either to go with:

A) french laundry in Napa CA).
-Have the 20 course (NOT the regular 8, 10 or whatever) tasting dinner, during truffle season, with wine pairing for every dish. ordeal lasts approx 8 hrs. comes with crap like a slab of seared foie gras, jdm kobe, duck, sea urchin, pork belly/bacon, lots of desserts, etc. The experience borders on masochism. It's not necessarily my absolute favorite place, but I can't think of a more appropriate culinary indulgence right before saluting the grim reaper.
French Laundry - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Laundry)

B) el bulli in catalonia, spain.
never actually tried this place. its almost impossible to get a reservation.
don't think i would be disappointed though.

For some of you guys saying you want to get fast food from a chain,
as "your last meal on earth?!"
I'm very intrigued behind such reasoning.
Is it because it truly is the best food you know of?
Or it is because somehow you find it appropriate for the occasion?

I can def appreciate a Fatburger (chain in socal) or chicken mc'nuggets every now and then,
but I'd have to be heavily medicated to consider it my final choice.

Note that sarcasm or mocking isn't intended.
I'm asking because i'm sincerely intrigued.
I am optimistic I will learn something profound.

Its your last meal on earth, do you have the time to cook?

op just mentioned what meal you'd have for your last meal on earth.
no restrictions were given otherwise.

"just curious what your last meal on earth would be (knock on wood)"

besides, based on your reasoning, how does whether or not you have time to cook have anything to do with picking fast food over other options (that doesn't involve cooking yourself)?

I have to say, you guys have some pretty shitty "last meal" choices.

First, I start off with an Entree (or appetizer as you would call it in the States) of fruit.

http://blogs1.marthastewart.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/02/12/kiwi_cantaloupe.jpg

At the exact same time, I would open up a bottle of Margaux '68 (of course, to let it air out)

http://www.antique-wines.net/new8/margaux68.JPG

Moving right along, I would continue on with some escargot.

http://www.finestchef.com/Escargot.jpg

Scrumptious.

Next would be the main course. Un Magret de Canard. Duck. By now, I would have had quite a bit of my wine.

http://www.chazallet.com/web-blog-v0-1/_content/img/060513_ithurria_magret_canard_sauce_cerise_1.JPG

Now it's time for cheese. Brie, Chevre, Camenbert etc. And of course, this is all with a fresh baguette from the Bakery.

http://www.withmarie.com/images/Cheese_Plate2.jpg

By now I'm pretty full, but never too full to enjoy a crepe.

http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t102/tastetests/Melt-StrawberriesCremeCrepe-1.jpg

Maybe throw in some Tiramisu after, and I am all set.

Now, I can die.

-Tons of Fun burger
taco bell

ronmcdon

and how much are you going to tip the waiter before you and him leave this earth?

I'd spit in the waiter's face as a 'tip'.
It's not like he's going to have another chance to pee in my soup,
if it's the last meal I'm ever having.

j/k.

Even if you had to tip (no mention of that requirement), what's the big deal?
This is the last meal you're ever going to have.

haha, and your meal choice is too modest.
why only 6 courses and 1 wine?

68 is pretty old for a wine (im guessing a bordeux?)

I'd do an procession of different dishes that I've had at a few different restaurants (restaurant names given in parens):

1.) Hamachi tartare with wasabi "caviar", miso foam, avocado mousse, and powderized sea salt (Volt - Frederick MD)

2.) Raw oysters with trout caviar and

3.) Poached egg, roast asparagus, duck prosciutto, shaved gruyere (The Newport Room - Bermuda)

4.) Whole roasted rockfish with lemon and sea salt (Sonoma - DC)

5.) Pan-seared whole foie gras with pineapple coulis (Bezu - Potomac MD)

6.) Blueberry almond crumble with ginger ice cream and salted vanilla streusel (The Source - DC)

Of course, this is really going nuts with it.

If I had to pick one plate, it would definitely be a whole roasted rockfish and roasted asparagus, both with just olive oil and sea salt, maybe a side of hash browns. Give me a good dry white wine with it, like a Cakebread chardonnay or a Groth Cab Sav. I'd be a very happy guy to go out like that.

6) ...and I can't die without a slice of Carvel ice cream cake, oh God.
