View Full Version : 89 ka24e no crank, no start, battery good and new starter HELP!!

i got a 89 hatch all stock running legit the other day it just would not start. everything i mean everthing works but when try to crank nothing. i put in a new starter checked all grounds and tightened it all up still no start im thinking its the ignition switch or clutch switch. does anyone have opinions? or could tell me how to check those or were they are located? thanks in advance
it doesn't do anything?
do you hear any type of clicking?

what about the fuses?

checked all fuses they are good and it is manual

yes i have push started it and it does start & runs fine
the starter is must be fried..replace it
or you can try whacking it with a hammer the see what happens

look at your clutch pedal there should be a switch there on ur pedal itself there should be a rubber grommet there if not try to push it and start it. the switch i mean

i seriously cannot see anything because its super dark and cold. i will check that out in the morning when there is light. thanks tho ill let you kno what happens

it started! ok now when u press the clutch down it hits the swith and starts the car this little piece fell out the hole so my clutch pedal was just going over the switch so i need to put a little peice there the hit the switch but i pushed it in with my finger and it started. thanks guys hope this can help someone else.

same thing happened to me but its probably the distributor in my case how did u fix it?

replace it. its kinda hard to explain check to see if there is a tread about it. but to check if its the distributor pull a spark plug out and start the ignition if it sparks your good.
