As always if it aint one thing its another, just got the car finished and was out ragging on the car a bit with a friend, do a 1st thru 3rd and when i come to a stop go to take off normally and the car wont shift into second gear, then i realized it wont go into 4th or reverse either.
Its like a rock it wont go in, grind, or anything. Like if 2nd 4th and Rev wherent even there. 1st 3rd and 5th are a ok though.
The tranny is a z32 and on the back of a vh45. :wtf:

did you hear a sound of clunking? or grinding?
maybe your clutch isnt bled right, or your clutch is worn irregularly, or maybe you just need to change your mission fluid?

You use a relocated shifter? Sounds like the shifter or the striking rod is out of alignment.

Clutch , slave, hard line, soft line, and master are all brand new and theyre good, checked.
Fluid is also new.
There was no noise.
The shifter is in the stock z32 location.
At this point Im thinking either i broke the c clip on the fork shaft and the stopper ring slid out and is not alowing the shift fork to move forward which would make sense as all the gears that will not engage need the shifter mechanism to actually move into the transmission. Or i somehow broke the shaft altogether.
sigh im just gonna have to take the transmisson out again.

I hope you got it on video.
If not you'll have to record your testing after you figure out what's wrong.

welcome to the Z32, your shaft = fucked. very common in the Z world. just take it appart and see how many components are messed up. sometimes the pin inside the transmission likes to come off. it happened to me once on my way home. in traffic. i was lucky enough and it was just the shaft u joint.

just as i thought the c clip came loose, you can see the washer and clip in the first pic at the bottom then the gouges and indentations on the shaft and housing where it rattled around, i probably installed it wrong the first time, anyway cleaned it up, put it back in and we are on the road again.
