Well the person who had the car before me must have installed an aftermarket alarm system that barely worked when i got it. So today I attempted to get rid of it only to find that what I did failed horribly and now the car wont start.

car is a 1990 240sx

All pics taken under the steering column

this is the tan sheeth covered plug that was just dangling not connected to anything. I looked for a place to plug it in, however I couldn't find anything... It looks like there are a few wires spliced into it though..?

Some random BOSCH connector that was just dangling there as well (it says 12V on it i believe) a big black plug with 4 thick gauged wires purple, yellow, brown, black. the wires etc are in the next photo.

Plug with 4 thick wires these are spliced into a white plug that is on the right side of the steering column with a bunch of wires spliced into it..

On the right is the white plug mentioned earlier with a lot of splicing on it. It's unplugged in the picture however i just unplugged it to take a better pic. It has 5 pins.

Is there supposed to be a factory ground there it's screwed into the bracket where the white box is? There are 2 wires there but then 1 more is spliced up above and goes into a big mess of wires?...

how i ended today, completely lost..

maybe someone can post pics of how their setup is OEM style..

any help at all would be great. thanks

Do you have any kind of alarm on the car?

The Bosch unit is a relay, used for starter disable. With it unplugged the car won't start. Trace the relay socket to the column harness, you'll find the starter wire has been cut and run through the socket. Cut it out and reconnect it.

The loose plug is a diagnostic plug used on SOHC cars, it's not supposed to be plugged in. Tie it up and leave it alone.
