my car is in SEMA magazine (weekely? month? quarterly? i dont know)! a track shot!
i didnt believe it when i heard
when i looked at it, it was a side shot of my car on the track and just me alone in the pic. :) SWEEET
JDM Rice and Marc showed me it and i was like, yeah whatever after the Drift Showoff (it was night time -dark outside so i couldnt see it clearly)
marc said "how many RS*R cars do you see out there?"
and last night Sam (jspec) told me my car was in the latest issue!!
so i emailed SEMA and their sending me a copy!!!
article about drifting and how its a new market i believe...
i'll post pics/scans later!!
:D :D :D :D :D

Dousan_PG
03-06-2003, 04:49 PM
its a mechanical 2 way secret sports
i know its mechanical and we are guessin on brand
but its got a gear ratio that most wont like. accelerates fast, bad top speed (w/ speedliimiter its at 100 mph).
anyways, good for auto-x fast accelleration
i wont sell it till maybe end of next month. depends when the Nismo comes it. i have an open diff awaiting the nismoSSS unit.
JasonNagra
03-06-2003, 05:29 PM
The nismo one is a clutch type right?? I thought you reccomended the clutch type over the mechanical??
Dousan_PG
03-06-2003, 05:35 PM
i do
i had this mechical for nearly 6 months now. i got it at a great price. so i needed it anyways. its better then a VLSD hahaha
JasonNagra
03-06-2003, 05:42 PM
The nismo 2 way is a cluth type right???
Dousan_PG
03-06-2003, 06:19 PM
yes, it is clutch type
40% increased engagement over the standard nismo 2 way clutch type LSD
JasonNagra
03-06-2003, 07:27 PM
So the SSS has 40% more engagement?? Hmm. Dont you think the regular nismo 2 way is good enough?

LOL you guys are wierd.
congratulations to you aaron! hmmm, time for norcal to get some recognition. theres a few good AE86 drivers up here, and nissan guys too. its just not fair though, since most events are in so-cal, but hey, we make the trip down there and come limping home every time! i wonder if the so-cal people would show that kind of support for events held up here?

damn newbs getting out of handle? im going to bust out the pole and go singapore punshmetn style next.
jason, yeah the nismo 2 way is fine.
i gotta get people to understand this
SSS is HARDCORE. you gotta be addicted to drifting or road racing
people in japan use the Nismo 2 way -most common for nissan drifters
the PROFESSIONALS use the SSS. its a 900+ dollar unit where as a nismo 2-way is like 500.
the SSS has incresaed engagement, moroe plates and adjustable from 1.5 and 2 way. how to adjust ?no there's no knobs or buttons. you have to drop the diff, take out the side shaft and change the torque on it.
whe i get mine it, it will be on full 2 way :) MMMMMMM so nice. it will clunk, skip, make noises, whine, and basically be very loud. my car will sound like its fallng apart in the rear both inside and out. probably get people flagging me down. but streetability is not an issue. mm drifting....
DAs UNITE!
ny_jee-im waiting for my friend to go online to get you the info btw, i didnt forget!

so with all this diff swapping... when is someone going to donate one to janet!? lets get her out there! no more "i dont have a diff" excuses!!! hahaha meanwhile im still rockin my HICAS diff... complete with hicas. yay. it actually wasnt that bad though on sunday. felt okay. just had to yank the crap out of the ebrake to break the rear loose. once i got that accomplished, wEeEEeE! heheh. i cant wait till the RS*R event. hmmmm i wonder if someone's sticker had anything to do with that one?... heheh.

hmm you want a non hicas subframe? talk w/ adriel. i was going to take it if you want to wait , you can have my old one. i want solid aluminum bushings so i was going to do that to adriels, drop subframes swpa and you can have my old one. that is i you arent in arush if you are, just talk w/ adriel. im a big time lagger so...who knows when i'll do it
janet im donated her my exhaust for borrowing sake! :)
she needs a LSD...hmmm
vlsds i can get them for 250 w/ subframe-people DONT PM ME ABOUT THIS!!!!

03-07-2003, 10:52 AM
hey aaron ur reccomend anywhere in particular for the nismo 2-way.. i've been looking at some vlsd's but u've got me to thinking that it's not worth it
Dousan_PG
03-07-2003, 10:54 AM
no no no
vlsd is great if you are street, minor track use car
if you want to go more track and such get a real LSD
but more money+more maintenance+rebuilds down the road
were to get a nismo? i would say jspec. special order item possibly
dont forget to add professional install to the cost list. ends up running around 1500 dollars for the total package.

Dousan36, aren't you already running Greg Dupree's aluminum subframe spacers? Why the need for solid aluminum bushings, that would be more insane... Are you planning to use the bushings from 300 degree?
zODIAC
Dousan_PG
03-07-2003, 12:30 PM
yeah but they are only lower
i want to replace the entire bushing, no cmopress it
i love the GD ones, but i want upper and lower and set it up for a drift setup.
im getting a second car soon, so i wont get stuck drving this car all day..whew.
300 degree? can you shooot me a weblink if you can..im at work, try not to hunt aorund too much heh..
thanks!

Dousan36, you are fast... haha
http://www.300degree.com/hard_parts/subframe/
Its for Z32, but don't quote me on this, I thought they share the
same bushing type for S13/S14.
Oh... your just looking for the top and bottom spacers.
Like the Kazama type?

i dont know yet. my friend says the aluminum mignt not be what i want. i gotta talk wth some others. i like the top and bottom, but id still drop the subframe, i dont like the slitted oens i want the other ones, then no worries (even though they probalby wont fall out, i still like to play it safe)
thanks for the link!!!

aaron,
hahaha i actually have a non-hicas rear subframe chillin in my garage. but im a lagger like you and i have no idea when the heck im going to put it in!! how many hours would it take? i know that all depends on tools/knowlegde, but im pretty confident after doing my KA swap. i just cant afford downtime since my ae86 popped its head gasket! sheesh i can never keep both running. and yeah, VLSD is plenty for me. thats why i just make sure whatever car i buy has an LSD from the factory. that way i can save that $1,500 and put it towards more important stuff like... GTR logos for my dashboard!! hahaa!
oh yeah i went to discount asking for tires for my SSR's... the first thing out of the guy's mouth was yokohama ES100. any good? i imagine they are since they want like $102 a piece! yeow! and not the b-ball player! i was thinking es100 out front and fm901 in the rear? hmmmm...
oh hey what difference could you feel with subframe spacers? i was thinking of getting some of nomukens drift pineapples. just so i can have uras stuff on my car heheh. nah but how effective are they? i think i wanna slap them on when/if i swap subframes while its out.
thanks for the title of this thread. i get 80's jams stuck in my head all day because of it. hahaha *and i know, i know, i know i want you , want you* haha fun stuff.
yeah im a noob, you can beat me up now.
chris, the guy who drifts on 17's and HICAS.

I dont think you understand how the subframe is coupled to the chassis. If you use the aluminum bushings from 300 degrees, you wont need any spacers at all. I will warn you that its going to be a hell of a lot more irritating to drive on streets. We'll talk today at A'pexi. I'll show you what I mean.

i was at the tire shop yesterday and i saw the SEMA magazine you were talking about. it had an article about how drifting could be a new market for parts makers and what not, and then i saw Aaron's car hehe. congrats dude.

ES100 is really good, more grip than Azenis. Good choice on the ES100 and FM901 combo. Gotta love the FM901, since you are in Socal, PM me, I might be able to get you a deal on the ES100 or any other ones mounted and balance. Tell me what size you need. BTW, the shop is located in Rosemead.

rosemead? man thats far. i live in SD. i might have danny work on my SSR's, so if he does maybe we can get the tires put on when they are done. and yeah that price scares me a bit. i think he said 72 each for the 901's. i gotta shop around. too many times i have bought the first thing i see, and that has been an expensive learning curve. maybe just fm901 all the way around. thanks for offering, i'll keep it in mind.
oh yeah and aaron, i saw the pic of the sema article too. the guy in the white MR2 is the guy that was with me at drift showoff in the bone stock red hicas 240. steve. yep, i brought him to the light side! hehehe actually he wasnt that hard to convince. he pretty much already had his mind made up. he posts here as equinox, im sure you've seen him on here.
hmmm im feelin a touge run tonight to get a good feel for my agx's. still tryin to dail those bad boys in. 4 was way too firm at showoff. 2 feels just right but jeez... the body roll... maybe 3. wish me luck!
