Ok ladies and gents. I recently swapped out my ign. switch so the car starts right up. But a problem i never notice before i changed it was not the ign. switch heats up like super hot by the touch. And i re-wired all of the harness in the engine bay. Would that just be a grounding problem? If so, which wire would the ground be under the hood? color wise? HELP HELP HELP.

Thanks in advance boys and girls!!!

This is a tough one. It's hard enough to troubleshoot factory wiring, much less aftermarket DIY wiring.

The only thing I can say is check every single wire for short and see if they're connected to where they're supposed to go.

The ECU itself? How do i know what to check? Last time u pulled out my ECU and open it up everything seems fine. Guess it wouldnt hurt to do it agian.

Thanks

I don't recommend swapping out a known-good ECU into a car with bad wiring. You may fry the good ECU.

Take your ECU and put that into a car that has good wiring. That's how you test the ECU.
