Hey everyone.
The fuel pump is very noisy on my 93 Silvia.
Is this a common problem? any solutions besides replacing it?
Thank you

Do you have an SR or some other engine than a KA? If so, you most likely have an upgraded fuel pump. In that case, yes, the fuel pump will be noisy...

I have a stock SR20DET black top, checked fuel pressure and it was 45psi.
is that too high?

around 43 psi is stock but usually when your fuel pump get noisey is a sign of it getting ready to crap out, unless its a GTR pump
What fuel pump are you running?

I am guessing it is stock because the rest of the car was when I got it.
Would the fuel pressure be this good though if it was about to crap out?

the sock filter is somwhat clogged and it causing the pump to work harder

8mm (or 6mm cant remember) socket/extension and ratchet will work eaiser, you'll more than likely strip the boltsand not be able to get them loose
also some needle nose pliers
