Ok simple question here; according to the FSM you can simpley do a continuity test across the center terminal on the 5 circuit side and any of the terminals on the 4 circuit side. Can anyone verify that they have done this and its worked correctly. The reason why I ask is that I suspected a blow igniter and tested mine. After purchasing another one, the problem persists and this new igniter doesn't show continuity either. Since I don't have another one on hand or anyone elses to check, I wanted to know if I'm missing something here...? s13 SR20DET in reference btw.

:wtf:

update!

I tested the ignitor on my other SR car; they both work fine. I tried to do a resistance reading across the circuits the FSM referenced and still got nothing. Maybe lost in translation?

I've done the test and never got continuity but my car runs fine.

Well half the people in this forum are insane to begin with. LOL.

I believe the FSM is wrong on this one.

well if it were lost in translation the proper way to check should be listed in the q45 fsm. I cant remember which year q45 it is that uses the same ignitor chips but it should be in there.

So what is the proper way to test it?

I tested it according to the way it is outlined in the S13SR20 FSM, and all of the possible continuity tests that were supposed to be GOOD or NG came out like they were supposed to......
