Hi people,
I have a 89.5mm (0.020" over) KA24DE block. I'm wondering what are my options on head gaskets.
Does felpro make anything for this application?
I know Cometic does, but i've heard so many bad/mixed reviews on those. I'm pretty hesitant to go that way.
I do have a regular felpro 89mm head gasket handy, but i don't think it would be a good idea to use it on my block. Altho i've heard that stock bore Felpro gaskets are good for 0.040 over on ka's. Anybody else heard that before? That's be dope if i could use the gasket i already have.

I have only seen one part number for the felpro headgasket. I would ask the machine shop that did your work for ideas/suggestions.
Cometic is all good if you do the rest of the stuff right. Have properly machined head and block for the cometic, have the front covers decked with the head and block(So many of the problems on the KA are because of the headgasket going out into the timing covers and people not having them decked together) I made that mistake on my first built KA-T. I have done 3 more for friends with out problems.

In case anyone ever searches this here some FYI for you.
This is confirmed in my KA24DE Head Build video as well.
240sx KA24DE Fel-Pro Head Gaskets - Cylinder Holes measure just over 90mm
So if you have a .020 bored block you will be fine using these possably even .040 bored blocks (90mm)- if you go to .040 bored you "might" have a slight over hang of the gasket onto the cylinder walls - I know no facts nor have I ever heard/seen any facts that you will have issues with this though so....

Holy thread revival Batman! But that is correct, at least for 0.020 over. I've put 10000kms on my rebuild since i put it all together and i did use the felpro gasket. Haven't gone turbo yet tho, got side tracked on the project, but so far so good. :)

Yes I know but I like to try and get the answer on the threads for when people search and nobody actually had any facts on if it would work or not. That is my reason for bringing this thread back alive.

Good save with the explanation. Otherwise typical thread revival. By far not the oldest:keke:.
Fel-Pro head gaskets work great for N/A or Turbo applications. Combined with head studs, the HG's do not fail easily for most street engines.
89.5mm bore with Fel-Pro HG and ARP studs for over 20K mi.
