well, like the title says... my audio stops working after one minute or less of operation. i checked the wiring to the speakers and they look fine, checked the fuse under the kick panel. i'm kinda lost here! need some help. my deck works fine i mean it doesn't turn off or anything. the audio just stops working after 1 minute or less literally and i'm stuck in mute land for a while. any ideas????

thanks

OE? Aftermarket? Brand? Amplifiers in use? Anything?

That sounds like an amp problem to me, but if you dont have an amp check all your connections at the head unit including its wiring harness, are you using the stock wiring setup, stock amp, stock speakers?

you need to provide more details.. what equipment?

when you say "stuck in mute land for a while" are you saying that they come back on?

ohhh, eclipse head unit. stock speakers all around and stock wiring. nothing else has changed.

maybe the internal amp in the headunit is going bad?

oh, no it doesn't come back on. it just literally turns off the sound, but the headunit is still able to read cds, change radio stations.

Are you running the stock amps still? The stock amps interfere with aftermarket radios and sometimes freak them out, thus shutting down. If you re-wire around the stock amps then you should be ok.

you should be bypassing stock amps anyways... and removing em too

yeah, i'm running stock amps still. rewire around the stock amps? not sure what you mean by this it sounds like an obvious statement though. i'm not even sure where my stock amps are lol.

i've tried wiring up my diamond audio d6 600x4 amp. but, it never seems to turn on.
what i did was

battery --> relay --> to amp. and then i grounded the amp using the bolt that is under the passenger seats. and wired the blue turn on amp wire into the amp. never seems to work.

well, i don't know where the stock amp is, i've heard bout what you said but could never locate it. it must be a little small thing. not familar with how it looks.

If your gonna do that then just rewire the speaker system from the head unit all the way to the speakers, its cheap and simple.

Sounds like you need to by-pass your stock amp. Search it up. 240sx bible should have the info.

S13? S14? Z32? You're killing us with these guesses.

Do a google search on bypassing the amp for your vehicle, since it's clear you don't want to tell us.

oh, nah it's not that i don't want to tell you. just something that didn't cross my mind. for some reason i didn't think it was important.

check in your fuse box. there should be a fuse for roomlamp .. because my car did the same thing .. i changed out the room lamp fuse... and everything works fine. when it was messed up .. my stereo turned on .. but there was no music .. but when i changed out the fuse .. everything was fine.. try it out.

hook up your other amp. wire the speakers from the other amp. nothing else.
