I just need to have input from you guys.

I have a set of Work Xd-9 in 17x9.5 +17 and I have a S13 silvia.
I'm debating in wich tire combo I should use. I looked at the wheel fitment thread but nothing could answer my question. I already have a set of 235/40 mounted on 2 wheels.
My choice of tire combo are:

1-front: 215/45 rear: 235/40
2-front:215/40 rear: 235/40
3-front: 225/45 rear : 225/45

ALso we have alot of pothole here so would a 215/40 or 45 be dangerous for the wheel? Also the 225 option would be more expensive...so maybe it is not worth it?
thanx

If your worried about potholes...225/45 fronts and 245/40 rears is what I would go with.

Your first and second choices are exactly the same?

Way too small and too stretched for my liking.

Just for reference, my suggestions are on par with stock wheel diameter...I try to shoot for it so it wont throw off the speedometer. So if you go narrower than what I put up there, the wheels will be undersized. Just something to think about...

for now my choice is the 215/45 and 235/40. The 215 is a bit taller but will be streched so, it will be almost the same height.

Will the 215/45 in front look weird or almost identical as the 235/40 in the back?

F 215/40 R 215/45,a little taller in the rear so you can tuck more tire and still have a pretty even stance.Might have to run a 5mm slip on all around for better fitment.

I'd go with 215/40 up front and 235/40 in the back

Dude just do 235/40 all around.

I did.

No regrets. (hammer <3)

OH YA and I can like rotate tires too. Not that I do. But I can. Like a real CAR and everything.

^^Same with me 235/40 is about the closest to stock diameter.

215/45 and 235/40 or just do 215/45 all around.

yeah kinda fucked up...coilovers on low profile tires are not too too much road friendly..haha

the 235/40 look really nice. But I heard taht with 9.5 +17 and slammed S13 I might have some rubbing issue on the track. I will track my car with these wheels(probably only in the front). Also I don't want to pull the fender in the front or run crazy camber.

So you want 9.5+17 on the front of an S13 with:

No rubbing
No camber
Slammed
Pothole safe

Dude you cant get everything. This is an S13 after all.

The 235/40 rubbing thing is true. It will rub. But you can either hammer a LOT or raise the car to fix that. I hammered quite a bit but still get rubbing. It's driveable around town but under aggressive driving it does rub. A 215/40 is the only option if you want super low and minimal rubbing. But then you lose the "pothole safe" concept.

Best compromise for your situation is 215/45. Safer for the potholes, less camber/fender work than 235/40, etc. But the likelihood of 215/45 rubbing vs. 235/40 is about the same (they have similar overall diameter)

If you really plan on tracking your car, the 235/40 makes a lot more sense than a 215. Wider is better...

Good infos!thanx!

I wanted 215 because I want less camber in the front. I will roll the front to the max and roll and slightly pull the rear. I don't really care about camber but I dont want to run more than 3,5-4degres.

I'll strat with the 215/45 in the front and if the road are better then last year and if it's rubbing I will switch to 215/40.
