View Full Version : Z32 MAF-to-SR - quick question

I picked up a Z32 MAF for my T28 upgrade, and I'm trying to get it wired in. It came with a factory plug with a good 8" of wiring, so I see no reason to get an aftermarket plug, and I think I've figured out which of the 4 pins on the MAF goes to where on the car.

BUT - this maf plug has five wires, not four, like most of the DIYs talk about. I think this might be from an N/A Z32; can I just cut off the fifth wire (it's in pin A)? As far as I can tell, there's no matching pin on the MAF itself that matches this wire (the MAF only has four pins), so I don't know why it's there in the first place.

Also, so I'm straight:

Pin B - to the white wire on the harness (MAF Signal)
Pin C - to Chassis Ground (Connect this to any ground on the chassis)
Pin D - to the Black Wire (Harness Ground)
Pin E - Black/White Wire on the harness (Power)

Pins A and F have no corresponding pins on the MAF; pin A has a wire that doesn't hook to the maf, and pin F has nothing on either the plug or the MAF.

Thanks in advance.

If it's an OE plug from a Z32 all the wire colors match. White is signal, black/white is power, the two blacks are ground.

Well, I never found a real answer to my question, but I wired the MAF up using the chart above (it's from Zeroyon) switched the airflow sensor in the PowerFC to VG30, and everything seems to be running right. The car starts, idles, and drives like normal, the MAF voltage all reads within the correct values, and the knock level didn't change at all, so I'm guessing I did it right.

Yep.

You did it.
