I am leaking and was going to pull the glass, clean and re-windo weld.
It's a S14 if it matters. It looks like three nuts hold the glass to the body...I was planning on taking a plastic putty knife and working the glass out or some piano wire (but I think the outer molding will get messed up with this as it's integral to the glass).
let me know...

I took mine out a couple of years ago. Just make sure you don't mess up the rubber molding that is shown on the outside. There is a push clip if I remember correctly in the bottom corner towards the rear or the car. That's pretty much it, it wasn't a major pain to get out.

I've removed a butt load parting cars, i used to heat up a bend cerated knife and slide it a bit, tried piano wire...meh, tried the removal tool with the handle...meh, but the got a air removal tool and havent gone back. Just cut from inside and make sure you dont cut the trim....also, there are 2 set tabs i believe on s14's and dont break em, or cut em off.

There's two push tabs but that's it. No bolts/nuts. I've found that a good heatgun around the edge, then a gentle prying on the moulding only will soften it up enough to break loose, once it's free on a corner it usually peels right off. I popped a pair out of a parts car last Summer by just pulling them off with my hands. I thought I was Hercules until I took into account how hot it was.

I tried that with one of my s13 fastback parts cars about two years ago. I also thought I was Hercules, until the glass shattered and cut my hands up. :ughd:

you need that special knife with the angled blade, the urethane sealant needs to be cut from inside.

glass guy is out there now working on it...it was a bitch to get out...
My problem is the seal to the body was good but the rubber has separated from the glass :(
He is going to try and seal it back up. I made need to source some replacements though, anyone know a place that may have these pieces? Dealer can get them at $495/each...ouch.

There is no other option for the rubber moulding, it comes bonded to the glass, unless you can find a supplier who sells the quarter glass aftermarket for less. I haven't ever seen it though. Most glass suppliers like PPG and Safelite only do windshields. You need to make certain he bonds it back correctly before sealing to the chassis, otherwise it will leak around the glass edge.
