I haven't been back to a dyno, but I did replace my knock sensor and my car seems much more responsive.

I have 100k on it, there were no cracks in the sensor...but it must have been falsing. No codes were thrown.

I picked up an $30 one off ebay and it was exactly like the stocker minus the lettering.

It's a bitch to install though...you really need to use a 1/4" drive with a swivel and long extention...3/8" is to wide. You really need a positive link to the end of the wrench so one long extension is much better than 2-3 unless you wrap the links in tape tightly.

It may also pay to pick up the Knock Sensor harness as you have to slide a large 'staple' clip out and mine broke on one side. I wrapped the terminal in waterproof tape tight. The whole assembly gets pretty brittle due to the heat.

I am pretty sure this solved my power dip until 3500 on the dyno, I now want to try going to +2.5 on my 248/232 cam setup rather than the -2.5 I am at now. This ran better with my knock sensor problem..but still crappy.

I also do the fuel pump relay mod...it didn't seem to make a difference but is probably worth the hour or so to do it.

i have to replace mine also. I was told that the knock sensor light only goes on when the wire is unplugged and it fixes it self b/c the ecu retards the timing. was yours on a dual cam?

yeah ka24de...I had already tried reseating the harness at the throttle body location.
