Picking up a friend's S14 on the cheap, and I'm thinking it might be better to swap my good front end parts onto this one, since mine has frame damage in the rear. The worst part about the car I'm picking up is the core support is bent. From what I can see, that's the extent of the damage aside from the bumper, headlights, corner lights, and radiator being toast.
How hard is it to change a core support? Or is there a way to pull it back into roughly the original shape? Its not like, cratered or anything, simply pushed back.

they aren't that expensive. around $100 from the dealer.
drill out the spotwelds and weld the new one in and paint.
pretty straightforward

^^ Yea because I was shopping around for core supports when I did my S15 front, and the Kouki support which is the same as the S15 support is actually more expensive.

core support changes are pretty straight forward. Not as easy as cut it out and weld one in, like a lot of people say. There are a few other steps involved. WE recently did one on a S14 which I will be doing a HOW too on very soon.

Provided that the frame is straight, you can fabricate your own core support. The support is just a place to bold in the radiator, lights, bumper, and fenders.

Hahaha.... that's a good one.
I can fabricate with fiberglass all day... but I can't weld worth shit, nor do I know dick about fabricating a core support/header panel.

and that is about the right price for a new one. idk why people still dont want to pay 120 for a used one
