View Full Version : Weird electrical problem - brake lights/interior lights

Whenever I step on my brakes, my cluster/gauge/dash lights all light up.

Recent changes -

I relocated my battery to behind my passenger seat. Ran a 2 Ga cable from battery's positive terminal to a dummy terminal up front, ran the engine ground to a terminal on the strut tower. Grounded the battery to the chassis right by it. Voltage reads 14.4-14.7 V when running(seems a little high, but it's a fresh PC680, ran high 13's to low 14's before).

Also put in some LED bulbs in the back because the current draw was a bit much causing voltage sag with headlights on, brake lights on and my electrical fans. They seem to be fine other than making the blinkers blink fast.

I did slightly nick two fairly thick cables(one was white, other was either black or white, can't remember) when cutting out my battery tray, but I added a little solder to where I nicked it just to be safe and wrapped them up with electrical tape. That's really the only thing I can think of, but I am 99% sure I wrapped the wires up well and it was just a small nick that barely went through the insulation.

Any ideas?
