Hey guys,
I'm in the middle of diagnosing a problem I've had where my car goes super rich on decel. I flipped through the FSM and found where you can do a resistance test on the senor alone; to figure out if its good or not. At the moment the one under investigation is still on the car, but I've got an extra one, and I'd like to know its good before I replace it.
The one on the car read 1.4 ohms at closed throttle and ~11ohms on WOT. I also checked my spare one and read 0.3ohms at closed throttle and ~13ohms at WOT.
Does anyone know if these are correct; have you actually checked one yourself? the FSM says you should read 0.7ohms @ closed throttle and 5 ohms at WOT.

So I've continued my searching, and in regards to the TPS, I checked it on my Nistune; the voltage readings are very linear and around .44VDC at closed throttle and 4.0VDC at WOT. Which from my research is correct. I guess if anyone stumbles across this post in the future, those are the resistance readings for a functioning TPS. Even though the FSM doesn't say that...which I'm still confused on...

I'm not on my computer so I cannot check it - but there is another section that lets you trouble shoot specific problems on the motor. In that section it has a TPS trouble shoot and I could have sworn the #s are 0.35-0.65 ohms with the car running. If you can get your TPS set to 0.45 with the car idling and the plug unplugged then it should be right.

I haven't checked with the car running but I'll look for that section tonight. I'm assuming since the voltage is correct and the change is voltage is smooth and linear, my problem is elsewhere.

from what you have on your original readings you siad you have 11ohm at wot and assumming you are having 12v system you only have about 1.09 amps through the sensor. but the fsm wants 5 ohms so again with a 12v sorce voltage you should have 2.4 amps at wot. so just from those readings it seems like you have a higher resistance some else on that circuit. cause you are losing 1.31 amps witch is alot of resistance. just my 2 cents

I HAVE RUN ACROSS THIS SAME ISSUE MYSELF. I'm trying to figure out the lowdown on all this TPS business. I know this post is old, but since there is no resolved answer, i have decided to post. Basically I have gathered a collection of TPS's and here is what I have learned thus far...
If you have a WORKING TPS with a part # SERA483-1 it WILL read around .20 +/- ohms closed and 12. +/- ohms. This is the part # for the usdm sr20de motors found in front wheel drive sr20s. BUT here's the strange thing, FRsport.com sells this tps as a direct replacement for an s13 sr20det. And this part # does function properly on an s13 sr20det, i have confirmed this myself.
If you have a WORKING tps with part # SERA483-05 it WILL read .45 +/- closed 5. +/- ohms open, this is the stock JDM tps for a 97-98 sr20det. As you can see it also follows the guidelines in the FSM
Now here is the fucked up part
1.people say that s13/s14 tps's are interchangeable
2.people say that the s13/g20/sentry ser/200sx ser/ fwd sr20de tps's are interchangeable
3.SOMEONE IS WRONG
Here's the thing, I have yet to test an oem jdm s13 tps because the only one I have is broken, so can someone please confirm it's part# and ohm readings....?

^ I'll double check what the part number in on my spare one and see if I can't record some resistance values.
As I told you in my PM, that TPS I have on the car now won't stay inside idle map above 0.20v which is another variance I can't explain. the FSM calls for a base voltage of 0.45 doesn't it?
