Ok, so i bought my 89 hatch shell from this dip shit sob in sacramento, antelope to be exact and before i bought it, he said car is registered, clean title blah blah blah and said that the car is registered under him, he just lost the title. Dad come out, "yes, my son lost the title too many problems with car blah blah blah."
So i am like shit yeah, a pretty clean shell for 650 so i bought it. He was like, here are the paper work that the guy gave me when i bought the car, i just lost the title. It shows who the Registered owner is (he said was the previous owner before him), and some amount he payed dues. Also attached was a bill of sale, only thing is, that person probably never registered the car or something because the owner of the car as of right now (according to dmv records) is the guy on the paper that payed the dues.
So now, the sob who i bought it from, wont pick up the damn phone, i leave zillions of voice messges on his answering machine, and wont email me back. I've spent 7 months trying to get him to answer my calls and try and contact the current owner (in dmv records) to just write me a bill of sales so i can get the car under my name. Not stolen, got dmv records and history of car.
The dilemma, should i just sell the motor (s13 sr blacktop) and junk the shell (pretty clean), or is there another way to register my car. (maybe go back to that sob house and do some fun loving??)
LMK what you guys think.

Whatever you decide to do, you need the pink slip. Junk yard's wont take a car without the pink slip in hand. Good Luck though.

^^^thats what i was thinking, but im a poor sob. If i had the money, i'de just throw a stack at them dmv people so they can register my car.
I got like:
- 1k hospital bill,
- 2400 school bill i gotta take out loan for, damn community college (try charging me up the ass, wont claim me as an instate even though i was born and raised here)
- Pay interest on my 20K+ school loans
- CC bills
etc etc etc.
if i can afford to buy a cheap dd, i would do it.

out of curiousity.. soo say you get a bill of sale.. then what? you pay the fees, transfer title.. etc. pretty sure youre going to need a smog also to finish the title transfer.. and you have blacktop sr. how is that going to happen? unless you have a hook up on smog.. or a ka?
anyways.. make up a bill of sale. forge that shit. haha

^^^Bill of sales require license of the seller, which is what i dont know. I tried looking on white pages for the registerd owner so i can call him up to write me a bill of sales and forget all those sob inbetween. Bill of sales of person, require license number or is it more like an option?

Ok, I re-read your first post.
I just purchased a car a week ago, and the guy I bought it off of only had the pink slip from the original owner that was signed over to him. Then I had a hand written bill of sale, with his signature saying I purchased the car. I also got one of the DMV forms for a bill of sale filled out completely with his license info.
I went to the DMV to transfer title, and they did not even LOOK at the DMV form. Because if you have the pink slip and a bill of sale from the new person(as long as his name is on the purchase side of the original pink slip), then that is what they HAVE to go by. This is what the lady at the DMV told me. So I threw away the DMV form, and they put everything through into my name, now it is just waiting my smog and the title will be all set.
Hope that helps.
*Cliff Note*
Take the original Pink slip that the guy gave you and the hand written bill of sale to the DMV. That should be good enough.

I think he has a blacktop and wanted to put in the shell. At least thats what he's first post said.

Not stolen, got car history report and ownership history. it was just the shell, i had the motor laying around.
before you read on,
**GUY = person who car is SUPPOSE to be under right now
So pink slip does not have GUY's name on it, looks like a phony. Because the person on the pink slip does not even show up on the owner history report.
I need to somehow get/obtain a bill of sale from GUY to me or to the sob that i bought the car from, because i have a bill of sale from him(the sob) to me. Thing is, i dont know GUY's license #. Do i HAVE to have the license # if i/someone/a fake GUY write a bill of sales with all his info (maybe his old phone number **WINK WINK**) without his driver license, to the sob i bought the shell from, should it work? Since i got a bill of sales from that sob?
make it clearer if confusing->have a GUY make bill of sale (without license #) to sob i bought car from, and use two bill of sales to try and register. Will it work?
nah your thinking about it too hard
make a bill of sale from GUY to the person on the pink slip, then the person on the pink slip to you.
every so often when i buy i car i end up having to make a bill of sale. as long as YOU know the whole thing is legit then you have nothing to worry about.

oooor if the shell is that clean and you have a junked one laying around or find something similar maybe someone who tracks the car then maybe the vins happen to come off one car and go on yours?

This happened to me. Well... the guy sold me a car that wasnt really HIS. So we called the guy whose name was on the pinkslip and he said he sold the car to the guy for parts, not to resell as a whole. Contacted a lawyer and the police and they nailed the guythat sold me the car. theres more to the story but thats in a nutshelll....

irax, im assuming you dont include license number when you make your own bill of sale then?
changing vins, not going to happen. I am pretty sure the car is legit, expecially with history paper. if i am wrong, guess what, i got guys license, bill of sale, address and all other goodies saying i just bought the car off someone.
Will "get" a bill of sale from GUY to sob i bought car from. Also think the fee is like 200-300 bucks too. Plate stickers from 06, but the dmv papers show registration to 2007, just never been smogged since 06.

DMV should be able to give you address of the register owner. You can fill out all the bill of sale and shit and mail it to him. Or better yet, go to his house and ask for his signature.
I did this once. Just tell the owner it will avoid tickets and shit go to him.

They give you address, but thats it. The address is like 45 mins from where i am from and dont know if owner still lives there. Searched yellow pages by address and names come up different. Tried getting a phone number but couldnt. will head out to dmv next week and try.
irax, im assuming you dont include license number when you make your own bill of sale then?
yeah i just make sure their DL number is illegible like most my posts!

The way I read it is you have the pink with the correct vin it is your car. Write up a bill of sale and call it good.
I have registered cars where a sig was missing...
DMV person- "This signature is missing."
Me-"Oh hold on a minute they are out in the car."
Walk outside sign paper
Me- "Here you go."
DMV person- "Here is your Temporary Tittle and reg, Bye"
Me-"Have a nice day."

i know through a business you can put a lien on the car to eventually transfer ownership

^^^I dont think the signature matters too much. Its the rivers license number that i am sort of stuck on. Should it just write sloppy as hell for the DL#, or should i just leave it blank?
If i do through my shell on the freeway, i will definetly let zilvia know lol.

Forge a bill of sale. Do it. make it look like a fax, speckle it up in photoshop (make look like newspaper and rotate the whole image 2 degrees from vertical.
cough... i had to do it.

^^^Copies of a bill of sale dont work. Good thing i brought an "original" copy!!! GOT MY SHIT REGISTERED!!! Wont be standed in the highway anytime soon. Fees were almost $300, but i got it registered.
Also, another note, no license number of GUY on the bill of sales but i still got it reistered!!!
