Well at 5 pm today i was coming down on pierre road right next to walnut high school.
going TOWARDS my house away from the liquor store area. (i was going the SPEED LIMIT OF 30!)
as i come to closer to the walnut high parking lot a student made an illegal left turn going into the senior parkign lot and killed my whole driver side.
my whole driver side is smoked to dust. scratched to the bare metal.
both drivers are okay. car that hit me was a toyota corrola i think a 99-02 silver
Now my beloved 240sx will be totalled thanks to you, you kid, thanks a lot. really. thanks.
insurance will probably just hand me a check for around 2k...
im gonna be cleaning my baby up once more... :(
another clean 240 down the drain. </3
first car summer 06- 2/6/09
for those of you who have seen my car you know i care dearly about it.
-karl im so sad!

Yes theres a thread on 240sxforums where a guy has the exact same damage if not worse on the quarter panel and it got pulled out and painted the same color as before and wow shit looks like nothing happened. It cost 1,500 in repairs though.

That isn't too bad. New fender, new door, minor work on the quarter panel and you're good to go.
I've seen much worse damage than that be repaired.

Something similar happened to me but I was lucky enough to find a door on craigslist for 13 bucks then I just went Silvia front and and got some over fenders. It cost a lot less then the 2800 dollars the insurance company forked out but now I'm worried of crashing cause its salvage title.

looks repairable.. hit up Santa Paula junkyard they have a couple s13's or look for parts on the forum...spend some of the money on over fenders suspension and rims...maybe even motor work just another reason to spend some money..

Find a same colour fender and door (assuming you paint is factory), and about $800-1000 to fix and paint the 1/4. good as new. Dont scrap it!

That'll buff out.
LOL. Sorry, I just had to throw that in there. But really, some time and a some tools and seriously you could totally fix that, front's easy, wide fenders, doors, either oem, carbon or fiberglass, and rear, some awesome fitting like Chargespeeds =) (some of the best fitting IMO)

^^ yeah just get a new fender and door, and deffinately do the charge speed overs, they do cover most of the quarter panel, where some leave a gap...but yeah no worries its not ruined....here some inspiration

that really doesn't look bad. fender and door would be like 50 bucks max at a yard. the quarter.. a little more work, but not the end of the world. if that was my car i'd do the work myself, and do a color change for funsies
for more info on a "FUCKED" quarter, look in the tech section under "help me fix my quarter"

The damage isn't too bad, I wouldn't consider it a lost cause. I've seen people go as far as having to cut a rear quarter off another car and welding it on. Yours looks like it can be pulled and repaired. Let's just be thankful no one was hurt.

As everyone else has said, it can be repaired. You are lucky there was no damage to the pillar or anything like that.

Even if they total it, buy it back. Money in your pocket to score new parts, then fix it. Not like you should worry about having a salvage title on a 20yr old car anyway. The resale value is already shit so there's no reason to not go that route.

russ is right. buy it back and fix it. repairs should not be astronomical.

Most shops charge around $1400 for a new quarter if you wish to keep it stock. And who the fuck said its a salvage title cause of what he got into? Are you fucking serious? You should be ashamed. Seriously.
Shop around for a body shop, find the cheapest price. When they ask if you are paying cash or insurance, tell them cash. They will charge you twice as much if you tell them insurance is paying.
If you decide to get it repaired, tell the insurance company you want money for a rental.

lol his insurance will probably cut him a check and total the car instead of spending more than the car is worth to repair that damage.
