I know the OEM unit is a Koyo. But, a lot of clutch kit manufactures include NSK TOBs with their kits.

The Koyo looks a lot more beefy then the NSK. Case is about the same diameter but looks thicker in height/depth. Like there would be bigger bearings inside.

Searching, I have only heard ancillary reports on both brands performance(My TOB failed so it must be the Koyo/NSK's fault).

Side note, I was always told KA and SR TOBs were different. But I have a couple SR and KA TOBs that came with their respective motorsets and they both have the same Koyo part numbers.

I don't know if this helps at all...but for my 97' tranny i was sold a TOB that shared a part (according to my friend at Nissan) number to the N/A Z32 and not the 96-back. That is all I have for now.

They are both good brands in the grand scheme of things.
Koyo is better imo.
I have been selling both brands for years.
Also Koyo is a little more expensive as well.

My friend swears by the Nissan OEM one (Koyo I guess)
and after riding on various cars we've done clutch jobs on
I tend to agree with him.
less chatter/noise and smoother

When was this change made? All the TOBs I have bought in Nissan packages are Koyo.
