Welp, it's out.
I downloaded it.
Took me a short bit to get used to the new menu setup. It's like Dead Space. Didn't realized til later that I can press left, up, down, right to quick select an item. :duh:
Other than that. With only two stages, it seems pretty fun. Not sure what to think about this partner thing because I have another thing to worry about. Last thing I want to worry about besides my decapitation is the decapitation of my AI partner.:axe:
Did the online coop and it's fun with somebody else who has a mic. Whoop some zombiii....err..umm...mutants now I guess? Ass.
Bummer that is isn't as gory as 4 though. RE4 showed you being cut in 1/2 and decaps, eviscerations and what not. RE5 just shows the start, but not the end. Blood seems a bit more stupid too, like too bubbly or gushy, hard to explain. I guess not as fluid haha.
Either way, I say that the demo is pretty fun and I can't wait for the full version.
Hope they put in something to where you can play with a friend instead of random people.

i remember reading a news clip on zilvia about this game. they were saying something the game being racist cuz all the zombies were black or something. i mean im not to sure where the game takes place, but it looks like somewhere in africa.
lol while playing the game i see they tossed a few white zombies in their hahaha i dont know if they were pressured into doing that but what ever, still a awsome game

Personally I thought the demo was rather blehhhhh. I think they could have done something more productive like more QUALITY teaser trailers or a SHORT demo of a more interesting level. Co-op play is ok, I only for see issues with it IMO. Hopefully they set it up similar to Fable 2 for instance where another friend over XBL or PSN can just jump into your game. Rather than having to *start* a game with that person etc. The computer AI actually doesn't seem too bad so far, but its still a hindrance to the game play.
To the RE5 being racist talk, the random "white" zombies were not added to the game they were always there in early demos/teasers. Its just the "black" zombies were more predominant so obviously people went off the deep end. Regardless I prefer this version of infected (more realistic IMO, as far as the way I believe zombies should be portrayed), as too the slow moving ones of RE1/2, Dead Rising or the retarded fast ones like L4D.

I played this over the weekend at a friends house... it was decent at best.
Graphics were awesome, controls were pretty shitty. The game has been around for like 10 years and they still dont let you aim and strafe at the same time? Dude controls like a tank :(

IDK...the graphics is nice, the woman looks cute :keke: but for the life of me I can't stand the controls!!!!! Not being able to walk and shoot is major fail too :|

game controls terribly. all the RE apologists need to quit with the "the controls make the game tense" bullshit.
i love how the enemies shamble towards you and then pause for like 20 seconds to attack, despite the fact that they were running in the cutscene
i love how you have no ammunition and you are forced to run around picking up ammunition from dead zombies who have no business carrying it in the first place
it's possible to implement scarce resources in game without compromising immersion.
likewise, if you need a shitty control scheme to make a game tense, then guess what - your game sucks.

graphics are pretty clean, the sounds is good if you have surround sound :) ... the "tense controls..." lame... the fact that you can't straife and shoot is weak, though, ur busy trying to aim a head-shot and some fool can just run up on you and attack, meh... on a side note, KillZone 2 is gonna be tits...!!!

Yea I hope this is just some demo shit that they quickly fix. The whole zombie carrying ammo then dropping it upon death seems very.....arcadey

I beat it on the first try.
Way too easy.
I hope they change item sharing so you can limit the amount of item/ammo instead of giving it all away.

Yeah the controls tend to suck, but it's been the same for ALL REs. Sadly I don't think a RE will ever have move+shoot commands. Guess it would probably make the game too easy. 1, 2 where hard, 3 got easy, 4 was the easiest. Directors cut was just insane. haha
I agree with your AI partner just blasting away. On most solo mutant/zombie fights I just knife them then do the action move I guess you can say.
Chainsaw guy takes FOREVER to kill, but you can do it. I recommend keeping your AI on "cover." When I moved her over to ATTACK after a bit, she went to open a door slowly and got hacked.
Before you go up the steps, look at the power pole. You can shoot that transformer down. You can shoot it every once in a while when it stops glowing to stun/damage mutants or the chainsaw guy.

After playing the demo, now I remembered why I stopped fucking playing it after the 2nd one. I cant stand trying to run away, stop, aim and try to kill a fucking zombie lunging at me. Why the fuck cant I be walking back slowly while blowing their fucking brains out?!?! :duh:

Well I am still skeptical, RE4 was chocolate covered tits. RE5 is shaping up to be chocolate covered shit if the game is anything like the demo

they also need to have a sweeping move that helps you distance yourself from the zombie/freaks. That knife doesn't do SHIT.
That way, when you're standing in place trying to shoot one zombie and his homies are advancing, you can sweep and build up a bit of distance, not just stand there and get raped because you can't aim and walk backwards at the same time.
