Car dies when clutch is pressed.

ok, im driving my car normally and i hear a loud screech as i press on the clutch, even in neutral. I get to a stoplight... my car dies. At first I thought it was the alternator, but it wasn't. i came to this conclusion because i started my car again, but dies when i pressed down on the clutch. A friend n i took a look at the suspected slave cylinder, but that was fine as well. Took a look at the "Fork" and according to him, it was loose. The fork was said to be able to move in every direction. i have a 95 s14, if that makes a difference.

This shit just started happening to me yesterday!!! I was thinking there was a froze up release bearing but I'm not hearing anything when releasing the clutch.
Anybody got any ideas???

It happened at a drift comp. One run fine the next it starts dieing.
