first i'll give a rundown of the car:

redtop sr20det
t25 turbo
sidemount intercooler
tomei expreme manifold/turbo outlet
apexi gt spec exhaust and test pipe
spec stage 3 cluth & flywheel
walbro fuel pump

and now onto the problem:
alright i've had a t28 on the car for about a year. about a month ago i was out driving (wasn't getting on it at the time), shifted into fourth gear and the car didn't blow off. i gave it some gas let off, still no blow off and i realized it wasn't boosting. i immediately pulled over, and realized it was smoking like crazy. i pulled the car home, pulled the turbo and it had major shaft play and the exhaust side had a shitload of oil in it.

the car sat for about a month while i looked for another turbo. i finally pick up a t25 and get the damn thing back together yesterday. i start it up and it's smoking. i thought maybe it was just burning the oil out of the exhaust, so i went and drove it. the thing runs great, holds solid at 10 pounds in every gear. only thing is, it smokes like a fucking chimney at idle. if i'm driving it, i don't think it smokes. but if i get on it, then come up to like a light, it smokes horribly. people all look at me funny. lol.

so, this morning i got up, and unbolted the exhaust from the turbo outlet. i wanted to see if it was in fact just burning the oil out of the exhaust or what. i didn't drive it or anything, just started it to see if it smokes and sure enough it does. not near as bad, but i think maybe that's just because i didn't drive it. soo, anybody have any ideas? thanks in advance.

Where is the smoke coming from, the exhaust?

I had the same problem, I rebuilt the turbo and no more smoke.

May take awhile for the oil in the exhaust to burn off.

that's what i thought so i unbolted the exhaust from the turbo outlet and started it. it still smokes, not as bad, but i think maybe that's just cus i didn't drive it.
