I think that it would be very helpful if for sale ads had the option to show Northern California or Southern California in its heading. Too many times have I clicked on CA ads only to be disappointed by an awesome, unshippable deal 500 miles away!

It makes it very difficult to peruse the for sale section, actually.

Great idea! Just do it for all of the prefixes, that way instead of 50+ to chose from, there would be 100+. Also, since I live in Fl. and there's Southern, Central and Northern could you create prefixes for those? That way I wouldn't have to press the heavy mouse button once to open the thread, and then have to press it one more time to back out!

I was actually coming into this thread to say the same thing, except using the WIDTH of NC as my example...
... now I don't have to.
Thanks

hey it's just a suggestion...honestly, when I am looking for something like seats, I cannot take the time to go to LA to pick it up. if it would make it more efficient to look through the site, why not? why am i getting flamed for a decent suggestion?

I knew the non Cali guys would come in here and bitch.

All the people outside of Cali don't get it, don't bother.

Look, if you're not willing to drive, and they're not willing to ship, you're out of luck.

Seriously, you're complaining about not being able to get parts IN YOUR OWN STATE. Do you even realize that a large majority of the members on here on attempting to get parts from from your state, and are possibly on the other side of the country, or even the World.

Excuse us if it comes off a little whiney. :ddog:

with all due respect, nobody is whining here. it is merely a suggestion on making the site just a bit easier to navigate, if you don't like it that's fine. i don't get why people have to be jerks about it?

I didn't say you were whining. I said it came off that way. Thus the reason I added :ddog: to try to show that I wasn't attacking you, but just joking.

I understand your concern, and I see your point. I just don't think it really needs to be changed from how it is already set-up. We added the pre-fix tags as a kindness, and tags for each State should be sufficient enough. If you'd like more, then I suggest creating a Thread in your Regional Section and asking people to start listing "Northern" or "Southern" in their Threads.

Makes sense. Not that I believe that CA should get its own such privilege, but if you look at the for sale threads, a great many of them are CA ads.

Another thing is, ITS NOT EVEN REALLY THAT HARD. All you would really have to do is ADD one more tag.

Change one from CA to SoCal and make a new one that says NorCal.'

But instead of just saying "yeah sure, its really not that big of a deal."

You guys would rather say NO FUCK YOU WE DON'T LIVE IN CALI blah blah blah.

Zilvia and the internet is the only place where shit is easy to fix, but mother fuckers would rather just say no and argue about it.

I can provide compelling evidence that it does. Namely this website I wrote, called http://theuniverserevolvesaroundcalifornia.com .

I see your point, but then people in central CA would come and bitch about there not being one for them. Then FL and TX people would gripe as well, and then you'd have New Yorkers wanting Long Island and Manhattan specific prefixes. As it is, it's fair for all.

The best advice I have is to encourage sellers to put a somewhat accurate location in their title.

Actually I don't think that's a bad idea if you guys got time. That's what makes craigslist so great!

CA is a little different though, since there are 500 miles separating bay area people from those in socal. If I lived in New York, I wouldn't mind driving across the state if I wanted something badly enough, just as I wouldn't mind driving to Sacramento from here (2.5 hours) to pick up a motor or seats.

Not that I feel that it is a completely necessary mod to the site, but it just makes sense to constantly update it to make it as convenient as possible. It's not like I want to navigate job listings or something and have to jump through loops.

Another idea is that we could post up a sticky asking people to also list the general area they live in in the title, like CA: Bay Area, Kouki Tails $400 or something. We have pretty stringent standards on the wheel ad titles, why not for everything else?

And Falkon, you should help me ask nicely. It's their site and they can do what they want, but these are just suggestions to help run it smoother, not demands.

I'm with bdog on this one.

They are providing you with a place to business. Be happy that they put in the time to regulate all the shit that goes on in there as it is.

:bowrofl:

That's not what I'm saying. I don't think that some of you are seeing that what I am offering is a suggestion to make the site slightly easier to navigate. It wouldn't make sense for a place of business to say "hey, fuck you, we don't care about what you think and improving our way of conducting business." That would make Zilvia like the DMV :)

In my opinion, these kind of attitudes are what make Zilvia more unpleasant of a place, but since I own this car, I don't really have much of a choice if I want to buy and sell certain things.

In other words, I am asking "why not?" I'm not sure what's so funny about it. I'm trying to keep this polite, respectful, and helpful, but most of the posts in this thread are just people being jerks.
