I'm a north sider. Addison and Western area. I'm up for a small meet or something. Just say when and where. Though a weekend is probably best. :)

if the weather was better I would be out there, but I would rather wait till like mid march, unless there is a nice and warm weekend, if I have to wear my jacket I probably won't go. There is going to be a Nissan meet every month starting in either March or April, so it's not like we won't have any meets, but we will also be organizing 240 only meets sometime when it gets warm.

Look at the other thread that someone started, it has a bunch of us in it.

Well, not to come to anyones defense but, he wasnt really specific in this post on exactly what "set something up" is. might be a movie night? might be hangin at a local (to him) car shop. dont be too harsh when we dont know exactly what his intentions were.

I myself pass around the option of a small meet, maybe only 5 people, going to a movie or hangin out at a mcdonalds and chatting. aint nothing wrong with that. and how else am i gonna do that w/out posting somewhere or stopping a 240 owner at a shop?

If those 9 or so BIG meets are enough for you, then good, but dont put someone down for being extra enthusiastic. I see nothing wrong and thats my .02

Yeah with Ireana, Lourans, and Art not here, someone's going to have to actually organize the 240-only meets this year.

I guess we could use the same old place which makes it more simple. Contacting people who arent on the boards is going to be the hard part.

ahah oh yea I be that one exemption :D , but I will have a 240 soon, prolly not for the first meet, unless its in like late April.

Good thing is we are now up to to I believe 3 Turbo 240s that I know of in our area, uiuc240, Mike or S14Guy, Art wherever he is, but I see him on line sometimes, when it comes to planning I will talk to him to see whats up with him.

I think I lost that e-mail but I am going to start making a list of the new Zilvia people.

I'm on the north side (andersonville), my car is further north in Madison, WI till the end of march or so.

But there's still a KA powered nissan in the garage. My girlfriend's very dirty altima desperately awaiting a week warm enough to wash it.

I think everyone else was feeling mid-late april/early may as a good time for the 1st meeting.
Even if the first meet is the first week of May it still leaves a month + 1/2 until "MiSoFasts" meeting.
June 15 is the exact middle of 2003, 3 months away, and I don't think anyone wants to wait that long for the very first meeting.

Let's take suggestions for the first meet.
When in April do you think would be nice enough? Or early may?
Sundays or Saturdays? Do you go to church or have work?
We can meet basically anywhere we want.
The Hooters meets have been done to death by every car club in Chicago.
just some ideas:
We can meet at the lakefront (best pictures), or Schaumburg (restaurants), take a drive on Sheridan Rd. through Lake Forest and the "twisty part"....etc.
If someone wants to volunteer their backyard/street for a meet (it's been done) that'd be cool. We can do a "car-wash" + wax meeting (it's been done before). We can have an install meeting- bring your parts and we all help out installing or learning how to install. It's up to you all.

It's still first week in March so let's plan for a couple weeks which will still leave around 3 weeks until the date we set.

Me: anytime on weekends is fine.
anything is cool- as long as a majority of us agree on it.
Submit your ideas!

edit:
JDM180SX: I keep seeing your car on the street (today)! (wingless looks better) :) Or did someone steal it!?!
If I also had a blue hatch with a bomex kit and kept seeing your car so much I'd be ****ed! (we all want to be a little different, y'know).

I say first meet should be in late april, early May, only becuase I should have a car by then. I don't know if anyone wants to meet this month or not, but I would be up for the drive in my Camry.

But I think actualy late April would be the best, then go to the all nissan meet in may, then Arts meet in June.

hee hee, yeah, i took off the wing...didnt like it as much as i thought and the brackets were too close together for the thin hatch. kinda felt like it was gonna tear off. but dont worry about the blue part...i'm not sure what color i'm gonna repaint it in yet. i gots a lot of future cosmetic plans (i hope i can afford em all though:D ) thanks for the compliment though.

Keep it on a Sunday, they work well, there is a higher probability (can't believe I am using this word out of Stats class:rolleyes: ) of me coming to the May 4th meet, and also a higher chance of me having a 240.

May 4th also has a higher probability of me bringing a completed SR swap.

My damn apartment complex has made me wait for over a month to get a garage, grrrrrrrr.

Places to have it, dunno, I'm not very creative sorry. At least we know the old place is safe from police attention and whatnot. It's like a park that no one comes to.

So Kid how is the search going? I think the car we looked at is still for sale- automatic isn't so bad! :p

Ya I find it odd that it is still up for sale, now its 2Gs I think, I saw it in the paper once.

If I can't find a decent Manual Fastback in the next month and its still there I will prolly end up getting that car.

On another place for the meet we can try and find some place with some nice scenery and do a little photoshoot, just not sure where would be a good place.

Well this is the new car, that I bought with no engine in it so downtime is not an issue, I can start as soon as i get a garage.

I have pretty much everything except a downpipe which I've been desperately looking for, and the intercooler kit, which I am waiting till the last minute on because they are $$$.

Oh yeah, and there's the little matter of an engine.:D I went to SOKO and it was very disappointing. They wanted $1550 for an engine with a chopped harness. They had I think only one redtop with a good harness but wanted $1950. I am going to probably order one, but once again need a garage. It's not like I can say to the truck "hey just carry it up those stairs and leave it in living room."

I should be able to get started next weekend. It should be done way before May if everything goes perfectly but nothing ever goes perfectly. Also this car hasn't been driven in over a year so there will probably be some other issues that pop up.

I'm down for that, then I could walk to the meet;)

Oh yeah, then you couldn't see my car.

Seriously, I think the lakefront is a good idea. Not quite as secluded, but a nice spot for photos and plenty of room. Oh yeah, and it's like 5 minutes from my apartment instead of 45 minutes plus a toll.
