was told by the seller that it's HKS KANSAI
searched on google but couldn't find one.
is HKS KANSAI really made a chassis brace for 180sx?
it selling on the forum in my country (Thailand) i'm thinking to get this for my car but not sure if this will help stiff my car better than a nismo power brace and a tension brace.
here's pics
Brand new....

I dont know if HKS ever made it.
But the concept is right.
It just boxes in the frame rails.
Should be pretty effective, HKS or not.

^ i agree looks like it'll help regardless of who makes it. if i found one of those i'd pick it up

Looks brutal for ground clearance at the rails.
Should help stiffen things up though.

Seems like the Nismo brace would give you more useful bracing (front of the car has a lot more flex than right under the firewall at the frame rails.
But every little bit helps....
Doesn't look like it hangs any lower than the crossmember/oilpan though

Looks like it can remain in place for tranny removal too. Nice touch.

i believe thats a Do-Luck tranny brace, very rare and very nice. they also made a chassis brace that went behind you front seats, and then sway bars for a little while, but finally went under.

Surprised you guys have never seen that, HKS Kansai is a separate tuning arm of HKS, they make a lot of braces for cars. The old speedlab website had all their aerokits too.
That one pictured ties the crossmember in to the rails past the steering rack, it's pretty beefy too. The rear brace they sell ties the tunnel at the rear into the forward mounting points for the subframe, it's a three piece brace. They also make a 'refresh' bar, basically a 4pt cage. If it's a good price I'd jump on it, they're about $420 retail IIRC.
DoLuck never made anything like that, the front ladder bar sat between the rails in the engine compartment, further forward.

Russ is right. SPL use to have them listed as a special order item. It's fine for ground clearance because it mounts where the frame rails are angled up, and behind the steering rack/k-member.

How does that attach to the frame rails?
Through OE holes. The long pieces below the brace in the picture have nuts welded to the back of it, you slide it through an opening in the rail and it will line up with two holes already predrilled, then you just slide the bolt/washer through the brace into the nut and tighten.

Nothing new there's a few Manf. that make Dual pipes for more clearance as oppose to a single 3"

rhdjapan used to sell these awhile back. they used to have a full "tunnel" setup that braced the entire transmission tunnel like ribs
they actually had 3-4 undercar braces from highend japanese companies ive never seen before too

Yeah, that's a HKS Kansai chassis brace.
I had the do luck one.
As said prior, the holes are already predrilled and unused.
Only difference with the du luck brace is it was adjustable in the center so you could make it wider/narrower.
Both will be hard to install if your car has been in a pretty heavy crash though; but that's a no brainer.
Rare trick use to sell both way back when.

STR makes a ton of braces for our cars, their site online doesn't have a good catalog but you can find a lot of browsing the Japan auctions. They originated the Cpillar bar, trunk bar, and some of the other weird pieces you now see mainstream.

good stuff, what's STR website?
I don't remember it, they sent a sticker with the site name for every piece I bought but that was like nine years ago and I browsed a few trying to guess it and couldn't come up with anything. But as listed above their parts are all over Japan auctions. Basically anything polished with blue ends that's not labeled as Cusco could be STR.
I had the Cpillar bar, trunk bar, both subframe bars, and the weird Cpillar to floor bars. There was also a link to one a few years ago for an S13 hatch that had the trunk bar, Cpillar bar, and RSTB all tied in together, then tied to the floor behind the front seats, all adjustable. Looked like the Miracle bar except better visibility, more room, and better design on the mounts. I used to have the pic on my old computer but it's gone now. But with all that you're as well off going with a cage.
