i have a rear fender which was pulled, and i would like to get it back into stock fashion.
i would have to say the fender is pulled about 1/2 inch out.
can i accomplish this with the harbor freight fender repair kit and a heat gun?

yes you can, it's been done before.
You'll probably need some paint and bondo as well.

u you would have to heat shrink it back. Torch plus water will do it.

Don't listen to these guys.
A hammer set and a cutting tool is all you'll need.
anythin can be fixed its wether its worth all the work or not

You can do it and ye i know the metal hella strectched but it can be done. Is it worth the time/work and possibly warping the whole quarter panel? NOPE.

Better, yet, just smooth the dent out with bondo if you cant tap it from the back. Ive done this with my fenders.

+1, but with a better body filler than random bondo.
After pulling fenders, 75% of them will buckle no matter what. Even if you do it right, the slightest push on that section will make the quarter panel buckle.
Your best bet is to just sand down that section and smoothen it out with body filler.

I guess it's doable, but I'm no body expert.
I've seen body shops restore fenders pulled accidentally by tboning/side-swiping each other. So I guess it's doable if you have the tools and know what you're doing.
Worst case you can cut out the entire fender and weld in a replacement fender.
Why do you want to go back to stock? Assuming the pull was done decently, why not just leave it?

thanks for the positive advice, not so much on the haters lol.
g6civicx, the previous owner attempted to pull the driver side rear fender and fucked it up. and then he just left it like that. the passenger side is ok, because he realized he did not know what he was doing and left it alone. ive been living with it ever since. i just want to get it back to looking decent before i spray the car.

Why don't you do it correctly and cut the fenders, reweld the seams, and use wide fenders?

01-25-2009, 09:18 AM
is that what a normal body shop would do? give me fucking widebody???????
no, i think not.
plus, i already have the aforementioned tools. its as if what im asking is something that goes against the laws of physics and social norms.

lol that is funny.
i mean i think it would be a ton of work just to have stock fenders..just get wheels and fill the gap! :P

It's bodywork. Like art, there's no right or wrong way to do it. If you think you can do it then do it.
Keep in mind that body shops mostly use the basic handtools that you can get. It's the skills in using the tools that you may not have.
It's like asking how to paint the Mona Lisa. How can we describe it to you?
Take paintbrush. Dip in paint. Apply liberally.

then, at least can it be unmangled by properly rolling it? with an eastwood.
maybe its because you dont know how minor the pull really is. its not even a full pull. its a half-assed attempt. id rather not have them pulled, since im never going to put BALLER ASS FRESH TO DEATH WHEELS on my shit, i am too poor and i dont need the attention.
so that cant be banged back in? as you can see, im rocking sentra wheels in this photo. thats about as fresh as my shits gonna get lol. no need for a pull when im never going to fill that shit, its like wearing a 3 piece suit with fucking clown shoes on.

WHY do you have sentra wheels on =(, i know $$$ is tight right now but you already have a pull... why not try and find some used wheels? would be easier than having to fix that and paint it and all that...
cause it can be done (metal can almost always go back to it's original state... kinda...) but don't expect to do it nicely without having to fix all the scratches, dings, and have to paint it again and all that...

+1. the money you would spend to fix it, you might as well buy some better wheels and have a better looking car. i rather have pulled fenders and sportmax rather than spend lots of money to go back to stock and sentra wheels

Find the person who did that pull and then beat the fender in with his/her face.
Add a little body filler and paint.
Done.

Hammer it in, buy spacers, and pull it back out.

repaint the whole car where a bodyshop will include everything dings/dents repaired to stock form.
honestly for the sake of simplicity it would be easier to cut fenders off a junked car and replace yours with un-molested fenders.
honestly some times i think there might actually be a market for replacement fenders for the 240sx community.

the reading comprehension in this thread is fucking ridiculous, if there is any reading going on at all.
the pull was done to ONLY the drivers side fender.
if you want to buy better wheels for your own shit, do that.
if you want to buy ME some better wheels for MY shit, do that.
otherwise, the shit aint gonna change. i want a clean stock looking car that aint gonna get jacked by some jackass thinking i have parts on it.
and yeah, i only want to hear what i want to hear about this matter. apparently, no one around here has tried it before. guess ill be the first, and i will keep the results a secret.
about taking my shit to a shop, yeah ok. it sure is easy to spend someone elses money, isnt it.
someone delete this thread. id do it myself but im not a premie.

yes there is a market, a lot of people to pulls and then want to change wheels and need less pull and so on and on... and if you sell pulls already done you could also make a bit on money on that... kinda like those wide fenders with the "pull" well stock fenders with the pull already done would sell also i think...

look ASSHOLE people here are giving ideas/opinions! if you can't take heat don't ask on internet not EVERYONE has long breaks to read every thread. some just read the OP and give they're help, its YOUR post not THEYRE so they don't have to read everything ALL THE TIME! and you DID NOT state that it was only ONE fender in the first post...
of you are so CHEAP, then fix it yourself money is hard to find these days but if you ask a question then take the answer!! they said get new wheels cause it is way easier to save up and get new wheels than to fix some bodywork sometimes... mostly if you have no idea like EVERY person who has to ask this question...
YES, this has been asked again with almost the same TOPIC TITLE you could search at least once! or google it!
you want a stock looking car that doesn't get jacked? get a hyundai excel...
and yes, im tired of this bullshit we try to help and we get insulted and bitched about our opinions, you don't want to be insulted? then stop bitching...
ps. don't worry, at least god still loves you... hopefully...

Based on the info you provided, I'm going to say no because you don't know what you're doing.
For a person with body experience, I would say yes.

like i said invest in a set of dollys, hammers, torch, and lots of water. Learn how to move the metal back and shrink the metal where it needs too becuase u can warp the metal and it'll all just buckle and become worse. Mind you, your better off just getting better wheels and fittings. If u get it back to its stock state you are gonna make the metal weaker and more brittle. So next time u get a serious dent or try to pull it out again it wont be so great and can probley get tears in the metal. Ive seen quarter panels fixed sp many times that the metal has cracks and shears in it.
GOOD Luck!! i could do it since i have alot of experience with doing this kind of bodywork(older cars). Take it slow when u do this becuase metal moves so easily u wouldnt believe it.
