Just tried taking out my starter, noticed just a simple bolt without any heads on both sides. Looked like the starter should slide right off, but it doesnt.
Should these bolts have heads on them and is that the reason this damn starter wont come off?
Extractor kit, here I come..maybe..

a bolt without heads is a stud...
starters aren't held on by studs
does it look like somebody broke the head off?

to simply answer, yes. the starter is held in via two bolts. if you have no bolt heads, you have a problem

Are you looking at it from the trans side or the block side? The bolts go all the way through so if you look from the front you will see the ends of the bolts.

Lol you're looking at it from the starter side?
You have to undo the two bolts from the back of the bell housing casing.

^^^ Yes, yes dumb dumb ^^^ It looks like you're looking at the starter from the wrong side, the bolts thread all the way through the bracket and out the other side.
