what does removing the timing chain guide do?

It either:
a) Reduces the motor's parasitic loss giving you a net 35 hp gain to the wheels.
b) Stops a rattle (if you have it), and will eliminate the risk of it snapping off.
This quiz will be 30% of your grade, you will have twenty minutes to complete it. No partial credit will be given.
