I need a new rear tranny seal( were the output shaft and driveshaft meet). How hard are these to replace? And, is this the correct seal?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__REAR-TRANNY-SEAL-S13-S14-240SX-KA24DE-GENUINE-NISSAN_W0QQitemZ160294125077QQadiZ2865QQadnZCarQ20 Q26Q20TruckQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQcmdZViewI temQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=it em160294125077&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A543|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__REAR-TRANNY-SEAL-S13-S14-240SX-KA24DE-GENUINE-NISSAN_W0QQitemZ160294125077QQadiZ2865QQadnZCarQ20 Q26Q20TruckQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQcmdZViewI temQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=it em160294125077&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A543%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 )

all is true.
dont cheap out on a 10 dollar seal. if the ebay one leaks you have to redo the job again. most likely with the dealer you wont even have to wait for it to come in. just come and pick one up.

yes yes and yes. Just goto the dealer for the seal. Dont wanna half ass a cheap seal and have to do the work twice. Gently tap a screwdriver in between the seal and the outer lip. Then pry out seal. Then install new seal by gently hammering the seal back in .

I'm in the process of doing this right now but I want to drop the rear extension...or i guess the gear box because I'm nervous that there might be something else wrong as well.
Is it too difficult to drop the rear piece of the transmission? I don't want to get in over my head.
240sx Transmission seal replacement: Nissan Online Mechanic: Nissan Forums / Infiniti Forums - NICOclub (http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/393707-240sx-transmission-seal-replacement)
Basic instructions how to do it with the tranny out. Now apply those steps with the tranny mounted to the car. Raise up the car and follow the instructions.
Good luck!

You need to pull the transmission if you're taking it apart.
