I'm in the market for a Stage 2 Clutch, and I want to know experiences people have had with their Stage 2 Clutches on SR20DET's. I was informed by James from G-Dimensions that I had the wrong pressure plate in because clutch engagement should not be as stiff as it is.

Anyways, I was looking at ClutchMasters Stage 2 Kevlar Clutch.

Any feedback on that clutch kit or suggestions on others would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going for a 300HP daily driver. No more.

Maybe consider an Exedy 3-puck single clutch. I had good experiences with it and it did not over heat and start slipping while doing a drift event. Never tried the CM Kevlar, but from past experiences i would stay away from anything kevlar, but thats just me.

Not sure what "stage" my ACT Street/Strip clutch is I have (that EVERYONE agreed here was Best Bang for the buck for daily) but I'm not sure if it would hold 300whp....Its nice though. Not super STiff. My car is Relatively Stock for now, daily.

But I need a Beefy Clutch also for approx 250-265whp+/- Track use.

I've used ACT, Clutchmasters, Exedy

Clutchmasters stage 3 was by far my favorite clutch... I am going to try my first spring 6 puck disc with an act pressure plate and see how I like that!

i use an exedy clutch paired with a toda flywheel. i effing love every second of it. grabs tight every time, never think twice when clutch kicking it. engagement is harsh but you can adapt to it.

I was going to try one of these out if/when I needed to replace my clutch.

Does anyone else run one?

RPS Max Street Clutch! Should check their flywheel while you're at it.

Get a Fidanza.... better cause you can replace the surface... Resurfacing the actual flywheel is pretty weak....

dxd feels so light and soo easy to drive but also holds my power easily. And also excellent customer service.

Remember you should be looking for how much torque the clutch holds, not hp.

Exedy stage 2 gets my vote on this one as i have just installed in a few months back. Great stiffness and easy on the legs for everyday driving. Not sure on how much power it can hold but i will find that out once my KA gets forced induction =)

WTF is a stage 2 clutch?!

I'd just get the sport clutch for 5,000 CR

Yeah I have to agree with a lot of folks and say the exedy 3 puck sprung is a great clutch. Ive had it in my s14 for close to 4 yrs now with 300whp and it has just now started to slip on me. It is just slightly stiffer pedal feel then stock but engage is not harsh at all. I would highly recommend this clutch for a 300whp setup.

i have an RPS street max clutch rated at 475lbs love it! its stiff but i dont mind plus very easy to drive let off the clutch slighty and it grabs. but the downfall is that whenever i downshift and i dont release the clutch slowly the rear end locks up and makes you look like a retard lol

wait.. are you rev-matching or just straight downshifting?
just wondering how that would happen

i'm guessing you're not rev matching and its because the clutch grabs so quick?

when i rev match it doesnt lock up everthing is very smooth but then i tried to just straight downshift and not release the clutch slowly it will lock up the rear end

I love my Exedy Stage 2 (the 3puck, sprung hub) - it's rumored to hold around 300ft-lbs, and it's holding my ~250ft-lbs perfectly while being easy to daily and always locks when I kick it. The perfect clutch for this amount of power.

If I went to ~350ft-lbs, I'd probably bump it up to they Hyper Single, because they feel just as good as the Stage 2, while being lighter and holding more power.

like people have said above, i've got an exedy stage 3 clutch for my ka-t which is around 300 to the wheels, it isnt bad for street use and holds fine at events, no slippage so far.

With a t28 i rocked a exedy stg2 - shit was ok, but life was shorter than a act on a weekly tracked dsm.

I have a clutchnet and a spec stg 3 now. Neither caused me any problems. The clutchnet is a bit harsh on the leg without a nismo slave. Spec is firm but not too hard.

old thread but my exedy stage 2 has been in for about a year now and has started slipping already. Its paired with a TODA flywheel and my SR is near stock other than piping, full exhaust (mani and turbo back), 10psi. Only autoXed it 4 times and went to local street drags once. It now slips if i put it in 3rd at low rpm and floor it. Slips as soon as it hits about 5psi.
