door lock problems

Okay, so when im inside my car, I lock the driver side manually and it locks, I then shut the door, and I can open it from the outside.....

wtf is that.

Its like when I try and open from the outside it unlocks the door.

Im afraid to leave anything in my car because of this, please help.

Hold the handle up to shut the door when locked. Welcome to Japanese cars.

I notice that only the driver side does this.

As said above, hold the door handle while closing the door. The door latch mechanism has a pin that retracts the door lock slider if you close the door and cause the latch to latch while the lock is engaged.

This feature prevents you from locking yourself out.

Just use the key to lock the door.

Lock the door pull handle and close door :) i had to get used to that with the s13 i had, now i have factory keyless s14 :)

Ive had this car for a year now, and am just now starting to lock it.

I didn't have anything important in it so I didn't care.

Now that Im gonna be putting a stereo in it, I wanna lock this bitch.

yup handle up and close the door...haha but i guess it really doesnt work that well since i locked myself out a couple of times xD
