I personally love it. It's aggressive and mean! I hope they keep the Legacy going that route since the Impreza has been pussed up. :ghey:

It's a different kind of bug eyes, lol. I'm on the fence about it though.

too much front overhang and why does every new car have the huge flared fenders?

Ugh
Liked the dead-front shot that first appeared, but seeing the whole care is a major disappointment
C-pillar makes the whole car look ungainly, bulky, too . . . fat.
Front end is busy
Front/rear proportions are off, hood is too long
The previous generation Legacy was the best, much sharper looking:

Headlights are kinda cool and different, but otherwise I don't care for it. Just looks too busy with the 100 mill details. Also makes it look really after-market, like someone tacked on a bodykit. My least fav detail is the front grill. looks a bit cumbersome and resembles the Chevy Malibu.
Since this is a concept, it doesn't mean much until the production is avail. I'm almost certain it will get toned down a bit and might be more to my liking then. What would be nice, is if they brought back the turbo station-wagon.
With regards to the current WRX, I do think they've done a great job with the 2009 model, as far as increasing all around performance to fight the competition, adding some minor aesthetic touches (such as the STi wing for the 5-door), and keeping base pricing at a reasonable 25-26k. The current 09 WRX is very solid imo. tbh - I was quite happy with the 08 WRX I test drove earlier this year, as far as the driving dynamics went. The steering and seats were much better than my old 06 STi. Yeah it looks boring, but I can look past that if it's enjoyable to drive.

Exactly it's still a concept.Basically photoshop out all the "concepty" cues and underneath you'll see the production car. It'll be a little more tame in production form and I don't think that's a bad thing.

It looks like an Impreza, last gen Maxima, and a CTS had sex and made this thing.... it looks too awkward. I hate the chrome on the trunk too. the big blue oval and chrome makes it look like Ford's current style. Ugh.

Im a die hard subbie fan ! I have had two wrx's, and one sti. I will be buying another sti after deployment. . .
BUT WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THEIR DESIGN DEPARTMENT ????
What are the trying to be, Michael Jackson ? Why do the feel the need to change their face every ten min ?
I fell in love with the bug eyes(knowing it looked like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down), then I got used to the 04~05 front end(it grew on me), I hated the 07~08 at first and got used to it too...
But 09 and on, suck worse than the 08 presidential election candidate choices.
Subaru... What the hell ???
BTW the new legacy is truly gay in all aspects of the word.

True, which is why I think for all cars we should allow the car prove itself in all respects. Even after the actual model gets released, I try to give myself a few months before I decide whether it grows on to me or not. Likewise, some designs that might appeal to you at first, might grow tiresome eventually.
I think the Legacy will work itself out to be ok. Toyota holds significant stock over Subaru right now, so I doubt they will take huge risks for better or worse.

I think not having any design consistency at all has been Subaru's style during the company's last 10 yrs or so. At first I didn't really like it, but then I've come to appreciate their experimental approach. Bar the 08+ Imprezas, you really wouldn't mistake a Subaru for anything else. Many of the models look horrendous and controversial when they come out, but grow on you in a strange way eventually. but regardless of their design eccentricities, usually they offer a very satisfying driving experience, good overall reliability, and practicality. They are well engineered. They are also very well rounded quality projects in a way Hondas and Toyotas are.
Subaru kinda has it's own eerie appeal in a way. I think its one of those things that you either love it or hate it. I'm not a fan of their entire line-up (I think the base 08 Impreza, which I had the chance to test-drive, is absolute garbage), but overall I'm very appreciative of what Subaru has to offer the automotive industry.

Personally I'd rather have the current model. this concept just doesn't mesh elegant/aggressive as good as the old ones did. It looks "Stubby".
