driver side door lock

my driver side door lock wont lock with the key for some reason. the actual key whole and slot are at a funky angle towards the front of the car. i took off the panel and everything on the inside of the door and tried to figure out what was wrong but i couldn't get to it that well. and it dident look any different then the passenger side. my question is has anyone else had this problem? and does anyone know how to fix it?


the dooor still locks from inside and the passenger door will lock with the key if that has anything to do with it

Someone tried to pry in the lock. Remove the handle from the door, remove the cylinder and repair/replace as needed.

ok, if it needs to be replaced i can just pick up 1 from the junkyard right?

If you get the key, yes. Or have it keyed at a locksmith.
