Fucking rat's nest under the hood. I wouldn't pay a grand for it as is, and that would only to be to part it out. But I'm sure plenty of kids would give a left nut and more for such a turd.

Ya me and my old man thought the same. hmm. He said the wires just needed to be tucked and whatnot. but still. i got my doubts thats all thats wrong

keep the feedback coming. thanks to all that puts in their comments

His piping is backwards by the look of it... Top pipe should run across the engine bay under the rad hose... Bottom pipe should go out to the drivers side of the car and they both meet the IC in the middle.

Also wiring looks ridiculous...
No Cam angle sensor...
No Recirc hose connected to the bov...
I can guarantee it doesn't have cams, RB20 cams are insanely priced and this looks like a budget build...
And no timing belt cover? Thinks his OEM cam gears are cool = FAIL

I would suggest staying clear of this horror story.

What the piping should look like.

I can't believe how much you guys pay for RB engines. 20's go for like $50 running here!

that thing looks like a nightmare under the hood. if it runs and drives good id say take it for a test drive and run it hard if all seems well offer him what your willing to pay and then fix it up, the wireing must be fixed asap that thing looks like a fire waiting to happen.

FAIL! find yourself a clean 240sx and work it up from there. I will never trust anyone that has done an engine swap, unless I know the guy before hand.

You do understand that it has a standalone wire to it. The SDS uses a crank trigger wheel so the CAS is not needed. It also runs a map sensor so you don't need to recirculate. The fastest RB20 I know of runs the SDS ([email protected]).

Didn't notice the Standalone till you mentioned it. I assume the crank trigger wheel works the same as a CAS? and how is it any better than a CAS?

Crank triggers are more direct and more accurate than CAS. The more direct information about where the piston is located the better. Between crank flex, belts stretching and tension being set right, cam bearings. while all might have tight tolerances there's still play and add them all up and you have some partial inaccuracy.

looks pretty rough but could be worth it if you have the modivation to clean it up. since it runs i would drive it and see how it feels.
